Every Version of DC’s Most Powerful Hero Collides In Epic New Era

Spoilers for The New Golden Age #1 by DC ComicsIn stunning new DC Comics art from artist Jay Hero, the many versions of Doctor Fate collide in an epic new cover for The New Golden Age #1. In the image, Khalid Nassour, the current Doctor Fate in the DC Universe, screams out in agony as the Helmet of Fate causes him pain. Meanwhile, several heroes who have previously dawned the Doctor Fate mantle and become the most powerful hero in existence can be seen suffering in pain all around him.

Doctor Fate is one of DC’s oldest superheroes, with the powerhouse magic-user first debuting in More Fun Comics #55 in 1940. Doctor Fate was an original founding member of the Justice Society of America and has been a key member of the Justice League. His connection to the magical being Nabu the Wise, via the Helmet of Fate, grants whoever’s wearing it incredible powers on a scale unrivaled in the DC Universe. However, the Helmet of Fate comes with a significant cost, as its users often are at the mercy of Nabu and have been forced to cede control to him.

In an incredible new variant cover from artist Jay Hero for The New Golden Age #1 from DC Comics, Khalid Nassour’s Doctor Fate is seen screaming out in agony as he wields the Helmet of Fate to become the most powerful hero in the DC Universe.
