Rumors are circling around Tobey Maguire — specifically his Hollywood career and what upcoming movies he might be acting in. In recent years, Maguire has not appeared in many movies or TV shows. Instead, he has been taking a step back to work behind the camera as a producer.

While he had many small roles as a child actor, first appearing on film when he was 14, and more through to his mid-twenties, it wasn’t until the early-2000s that he made a name for himself. Most audiences know Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker and his masked alter-ego, Spider-Man, from Sam Raimi’s trilogy of Spider-Man movies that ran from 2002 through to 2007. Since the release of the third film, he has played a relatively small number of roles, his most notably being Nick Carraway alongside Leonardo Di Caprio’s Jay Gatsby in 2013’s The Great Gatsby, and as Adult Tim and the narrator for The Boss Baby.

However, Tobey Maguire’s producer credits are extensive for the past few years. Highlights include the adaptation of Rick Yancy’s sci-fi YA novel The 5th Wave, the adaptation of Osha Gray Davidson’s The Best of Enemies: Race and Redemption in the New South, and Bob Odenkirk’s John Wick style action movie Nobody. Here are all the upcoming movies where you can see Tobey Maguire on-screen.

Spider-Man: No Way Home

Every Upcoming Tobey Maguire Movie

The third standalone entry for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man series in the MCU will see Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) cast a spell that causes the multiverse’s timelines to collapse in on themselves ahead of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. While Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have not been officially confirmed, they are both expected to appear, if only briefly, reprising their roles as alternate versions of Peter Parker. Maguire’s involvement became even more likely when the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer dropped and hinted at the return of Green Goblin, who was Maguire’s villain for Spider-Man, and showed Alfred Molina as Doc Ock, who was the antagonist for Spider-Man 2. The movie is due to hit theaters on December 17, 2021.

Babylon

Continuing his run as a producer, Tobey Maguire is set to both produce and appear in Babylon. The film is a period drama from the golden age of Hollywood, set at the transition between silent movies and the “talkies.” Brad Pitt is attached to play a fictionalized version of the actor and director John Gilbert, and Margot Robbie will play a version of Clara Bow, taking over the role from Emma Stone after she had to leave the project in December 2020 over scheduling conflicts. The movie was originally scheduled for a December 2021 release but due to issues related to COVID-19, the release was delayed to December 25, 2022. Tobey Maguire’s character in the upcoming movie has not been announced yet, and it is unclear whether he will take a major supporting role, or merely provide a cameo appearance while he is producing.
