With week one of college football quickly approaching, Madden NFL 22 has made 10 historic college programs available in the game’s Superstar KO mode. From August 31 to September 27, these teams are accessible via Madden 22‘s Campus Legends event. Campus Legends features some of the greatest college stars ever, playing for powerhouse schools like Florida, Clemson, Texas, and USC.
The Madden 22 Campus Legends announcement was accompanied by an in-game rematch (see tweet below) of the 2006 Rose Bowl Game between Texas and USC, played in real life by former Texas QB Vince Young and former USC halfback Reggie Bush. Young led the Longhorns to victory in 2006, and he followed that up with another win in the virtual rematch. On the Campus Legends Texas team, Young’s in-game counterpart is supported by current players like WR Marquise Goodwin and safety Quandre Diggs, as well as former icons such as Ricky Williams and Earl Campbell. Bush’s Madden USC Trojans squad is loaded with talent, including seven current Hall of Famers like Troy Polamalu, Lynn Swann, and Junior Seau.
Perennial SEC powers Florida and LSU also have stacked rosters. The Gators’ Madden 22 team is lead by Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow and his former go-to wideout, Percy Harvin. Their defensive stoppers include Brandon Spikes and Hall of Famer Jack Youngblood. The LSU Tigers’ Madden 22 squad includes several current NFL stars. Its receiver trio of Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, and Justin Jefferson is mirrored by Patrick Peterson, Tre’Davious White, and Tyrann Mathieu in the defensive backfield.
Madden NFL 22’s Campus Legends Event Features 10 College Teams
The 2016 and 2018 national champion Clemson Tigers also appear in Madden 22‘s Campus Legends event. The number one overall pick from this year’s NFL draft, Trevor Lawrence, leads the offense, with De’Andre Hopkins and Sammy Watkins as his targets. Philadelphia Eagles legend Brian Dawkins holds things down for the Tiger defense. They’re joined from the ACC conference by the Miami Hurricanes. Its star-studded team from The U is paced by its vaunted defense. Ray Lewis and Ed Reed take the field alongside the late, great Sean Taylor. Andre Johnson and Reggie Wayne aren’t bad options for Hall of Fame QB Jim Kelly to throw the ball to, either.
Sophomore superstar Justin Herbert leads the Oregon Ducks in Madden 22, joined by his teammate D’Anthony Thomas and pass rusher Dion Jordan. For Oklahoma, wideouts CeeDee Lamb and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown are available targets for QB Kyler Murray or Baker Mayfield. Controversial linebacker Brian Bosworth is in the middle of the Sooners’ defense. The full list of Madden 22 Campus Legends’ playable teams is as follows.

There’s no doubt many college football fans miss the NCAA Football video game series, which hasn’t seen a new release since 2012. The Madden Campus Legends event at least allows players to use a few of their favorite college legends from past and present. The event is available within the Superstar KO mode on Madden NFL 22 until September 27.
