Every Jujutsu Kaisen Shibuya Incident Villain Explained

Every Jujutsu Kaisen Shibuya Incident Villain Explained

One of the best parts about Jujutsu Kaisen is its characters. It has a loaded ensemble cast, with a wide range of personalities and attitudes, and the villains featured throughout the series are no exception. They’re powerful and sinister, each with their own skills and gimmicks that make each of them uniquely terrifying. The Shibuya Incident Arc will truly show fans just how amazing the villains are as they begin their assault on Gojou Satoru and the other jujutsu sorcerers.

There are quite a few other villains who haven’t been introduced yet but will surely challenge the jujutsu sorcerers. The latest episode has officially sparked the core events of the arc as the villains aim to seal Gojo away. Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 8 will see an all out war between the powerful villains and heroes, with a setup to make the Shibuya arc one of, if not the best, in the series so far.

Geto Suguru

Every Jujutsu Kaisen Shibuya Incident Villain Explained

The mastermind behind the assault, Getou is leading the cursed spirits and curse users against the jujutsu sorcerers. He has been plotting for years on how to eliminate non-sorcerers, and now he has the chance. Although he’s mostly a strategist, his abilities are not lacking in any way at all. He can manipulate cursed spirits, and previously unleashed 2000 spirits in Shinjuku and Kyoto. What makes Geto scary is how far he’s willing to go for his goals. He loathes cursed spirits for killing his comrades, but is willing to work with them. His devotion to his dreams makes him a formidable foe.

He has history with Gojo Satoru, as revealed in the Hidden Inventory Arc. As his former best friend, he knows everything about him: his strengths, weaknesses, abilities and mannerisms. With the combined strength of the other villains on this list, Geto will undoubtedly make use of his knowledge of Gojo and devise a plan. Episode 7 of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 revealed the brilliant plan by Geto Suguru to lure Gojo out into Shibuya. There’s more to come from the tactician as the season progresses. So far, he’s the biggest threat to the jujutsu sorcerers despite not being the strongest.

Sukuna

Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen season one.

Known as the King Of Curses, his power and strength were acknowledged by Gojo, who said he’d have a tough battle against him. While the anime hasn’t revealed much about Sukuna’s cursed techniques aside from his Domain Expansion, it’s obvious that very few rival him in power. His physical strength is unlike any other, defeating Megumi with just his bare hands. During Itadori’s revival, the two made a pact where Sukuna would gain control over Itadori’s body for one minute. He still hasn’t made use of this pact – making many fans wonder if he’ll take advantage of it in this arc.

Mahito

Mahito in Jujutsu Kaisen season one.

Mahito is the most twisted out of all the villains in Jujutsu Kaisen. He has taken multiple lives for fun. He has toyed with many people, morphing them into unrecognizable body horror monstrosities, refusing to give them a quick death. Mahito’s abilities are some of the scariest in the series.

He can change someone’s body however he sees fit just by touching them. His ability also lets him change his body into a weapon. He has it out for Nanami and Itadori, as both of them have previously defeated him in combat. Moreover, Mahito can use Domain Expansion, a deadly power-up that could quickly turn a fight in his favor.

Choso

Choso from Jujutsu Kaisen at the end of season one.

Choso is the oldest brother of the trio Death Painting Womb, the special grades that Itadori and Nobara fought at the end of season 1. Much isn’t known about him or his abilities, only that he’s extremely powerful, as he’s acknowledged by Mahito and Geto.

Choso is unique, as a half-human and half-cursed spirit. He’s also special-grade level, making his alusive abilities even more of a threat. To add salt to injury, the death of his two brothers at the hands of the sorcerers should motivate him to fight to the best of his abilities and get revenge for them.

Jogo

Jogo from Jujutsu Kaisen

Jogo is the most confident and perhaps most arrogant villain in Jujutsu Kaisen. His hatred for humans knows no bounds, as he has shown his disgust for them and killed many innocent people. He’s extremely cocky, attacking Gojou Satoru despite repeated warnings by Geto not to.

Despite his arrogance, he is extremely powerful and is considered a special-grade cursed spirit. He mainly utilizes lava to burn his opponents. Jogo’s physical prowess is also off the charts. Like many of the other frightening villains featured in the Shibuya arc, he’s mastered Domain Expansion, automatically making him one of the strongest spirits in the series.

Hanami

Hanami fighting the Tokyo and Kyoto students in Jujutsu Kaisen season 1

Another cursed spirit, Hanami, made an appearance in the second half of Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 during the Tokyo and Kyoto Exchange Event. They defeated every single student they fought, including the first-grade Inumaki, Megumi, Kamo, and Maki. It took the combined effort of Todo Aoi and Yuji Itadori to hold them back, and it seemed like they would lose when Hanami was about to use Domain Expansion. Luckily Gojo Satoru saved them, and left Hanami half dead. Hanami can summon roots, shoot buds that disable an opponent’s cursed energy, and one of their arms allows them to absorb energy.

The jujutsu sorcerers have proved themselves to be extremely capable and strong, and as such, the villains featured in Jujutsu Kaisen are just as menacing. Throughout season 1 and the prequel movie, the series has shown these villains accomplishing incredible fears and taking on the strongest sorcerers. Now that the scene has been set, the real action can begin. The Shibuya incident arc is the most anticipated one yet, and is widely considered by many as its best. Once all is said and done, this arc will most likely go down as one of the best in shonen anime.
