Every Game You SHOULDN’T Expect At E3 2021

This year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3, begins in June, and more and more fans are trying to predict which upcoming game releases will make an appearance during presentations. There are several highly anticipated games that many are hoping to hear about, but several previously-announced titles probably won’t be getting much of an update during E3 2021.

Rumors have been circulating with increasing frequency as E3 approaches, with fans speculating on what will be announced or what updates they can expect to see. The Nintendo Switch Pro is one such rumored announcement, with others predicting likely announcements such as release dates for games like Starfield or a long-awaited Elden Ring update.

Multiple partners have confirmed they will be attending E3, including Microsoft and Nintendo. Other major publishers such as Ubisoft, Square Enix and Sega will be present as well, and many are anticipating a lengthy list of new announcements and updates to come. However, there are certain titles that fans probably shouldn’t get their hopes up for.

Ubisoft’s Star Wars Game At E3

In early 2021, an upcoming Star Wars collaboration between Ubisoft and Lucasfilm Games was announced as development was confirmed on a story-driven open-world game set in the universe of the franchise. Headed by Massive Entertainment, the project will reportedly make use of the Snowdrop game engine to introduce fans to an all-new Star Wars adventure. Since the initial announcement, little has been revealed about the upcoming title. However, given how recently it was confirmed and the fact that it’s likely in very early stages of development, it doesn’t seem like fans should expect to hear more about it at this year’s E3.

Bethesda’s Indiana Jones Game At E3

Also announced in early 2021 was an Indiana Jones title in the works at MachineGames, headed by Bethesda. The game promises to be an original and standalone game set in the height of the adventurer’s career, but little else has been revealed about it. Potential release dates, platforms and the state of development are all unknown. However, it’s unlikely anything more will be revealed at this year’s E3. Bethesda has announced that it’s currently prioritizing development of Starfield, the studio’s upcoming space RPG. While fans can most likely expect to see more Starfield news at E3 2021, newer announcements like the Indiana Jones game might not make an appearance at all.

The Elder Scrolls 6 At E3

Another one of Bethesda’s upcoming titles is The Elder Scrolls 6, which was revealed in a teaser trailer in 2018. Since then little has been released regarding the latest chapter in the Elder Scrolls series, though recently fans have been speculating that additional hints towards the game’s location or timeline may be made in the upcoming future. However, Bethesda’s prioritization of Starfield has likely pushed the timeline of TES6 back quite a ways, and it seems that it will be a few years before fans will see a release. In light of that, The Elder Scrolls 6 isn’t probable to get much focus – if any – during E3 2021.

Mass Effect 4 At E3

Following the success of Mass Effect Legendary Edition, fans of BioWare’s RPG franchise have been eager to hear more news regarding the series. For a while it seemed that any further sequels to Mass Effect would be put on hold due to the harsh critical response to Mass Effect: Andromeda, but late 2020 saw the release of a teaser trailer for an upcoming Mass Effect game featuring Liara T’soni, a returning character from the trilogy. With so little information to go off of, coupled with the fact that the game is likely still early in development, fans probably shouldn’t get their hopes up regarding more Mass Effect news during E3 2021. It’s more likely that the studio will provide another update on the next Dragon Age game, which has been in the works since 2018.
