Every DCEU Movie Missing From Netflix

Every DCEU Movie Missing From Netflix

Many DC Extended Universe movies are finally available to stream on Netflix, but there are still several films missing from the catalog. With the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom marking the official end of the DCEU and the transition into DC Studios’ new era, many DC fans will be flocking to streaming services to rewatch their favorite films. Netflix is undoubtedly the most commonly used streaming service in North America, and the deal between the platform and Warner Bros. Discovery will open the DCEU franchise to a wider audience. The deal is especially important as the DCEU will largely be left behind going forward into the DCU era.

Although the Netflix spotlight will undoubtedly bring much more attention to the eight new DCEU movies currently streaming on the platform, it makes the absence of some films much more evident. Many of the DCEU’s more recent projects are still unavailable to stream on Netflix. In an already awkward transition period for DC Studios, the missing movies on Netflix will create plenty of holes in the current DCEU timeline for the casual viewer. There is still time for the missing DCEU movies to make their way onto Netflix eventually, but they will not be available to stream in the latest roll-out.

How To Watch DCEU Movies In Order (By Release Date & Chronologically)

The DCEU’s timeline may be about to be rebooted in the DC Universe, but here’s how to watch the DCEU in release order or chronological order.

All 8 DCEU Movies Not On Netflix

The Justice League united for battle in Zack Snyder's Justice League

As of Dec. 1, eight DCEU movies started streaming on Netflix: Man of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman: 1984 and The Suicide Squad. However, these movies only account for half of the DCEU’s offerings. Here are the eight DCEU movies not on Netflix and where they can be streamed.

  • Aquaman (2018) was not included in the Warner Bros. Discovery deal. It is a weird decision by the studio as the upcoming sequel release would mean a higher demand for Aquaman content. The film is currently only available to stream on Max.
  • Shazam! (2019) was not included in the deal for unknown reasons. However, it is currently available to stream on Netflix in specific European regions. It’s available on Max.
  • Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021) was released as a Max exclusive, so it makes sense that the film would not be a part of Warner Bros. Discovery’s Netflix deal.
  • Black Adam (2022) was not included in the deal and is currently only available to stream on Max.
  • Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023) was not included in the deal. The Shazam! sequel is currently available to stream on Max.
  • The Flash (2023) was not included in the deal and is available to stream on Max.
  • Blue Beetle (2023) was not included in the deal and is the DCEU’s most recent film to be released on Max.
  • Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023) has yet to premiere in theaters, but it can safely be assumed that it will follow in Aquaman’s footsteps and be unavailable on Netflix. It releases in theaters Friday, Dec. 22.

Will More DCEU Movies Be Added To Netflix?

Orm stands back to back with Arthur Curry in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

It’s possible some of the missing DCEU movies will eventually stream on Netflix, depending on how future deals between the streaming service and Warner Bros. Discovery. Especially if there is a demand for the old DCEU in the future, it would be in DC’s best interest to include their whole catalog on Netflix. Zack Snyder’s Justice League is the only DCEU film that will likely stay off of Netflix because it premiered as a Max exclusive.

The DCEU has had a mixed reception since its start, and Warner Bros. Discovery’s latest deal with Netflix can revive some interest in the franchise. The new platform will hopefully keep the DCEU somewhat relevant as DC Studios moves into the new era, but it will be hard for the deal to be truly effective with eight DCEU titles still missing. While there is the potential for these films to eventually be added to Netflix’s DCEU catalog, their presence will definitely be missed.
