National Geographic’s Arctic Ascent With Alex Honnold is a three-part docuseries premiering on February 4th. The series tells the story of an expedition in Greenland that faces Honnold with one of his most challenging climbs yet. The series is also intended to be just as educational as it is thrilling, as it is set to see Honnold and his team looking into the effect of climate change on glaciers, ice caps, and other stunning features of the natural world.
Honnold is primarily known outside of the rock climbing world as the subject of the Oscar-winning 2018 documentary Free Solo. The film saw Honnold scaling Yosemite National Park’s El Capitan summit with no climbing gear; interested parties can watch a slightly censored Free Solo on Disney+.
