However, with a love triangle forming in the upcoming season, everyone’s romantic future remains uncertain.

Screen Rant: It looks like we may have a bit of a love triangle going on between you three this season. Emeraude, if you would like to start, where is Lily’s head when we see her again, and just how got complicated is this going to get?

Emeraude Toubia: Lily is kind of starting from rock bottom in this season. She’s trying to navigate her life again and trying to find out what love means to her and what love is. I love it because all my girlfriends and myself relate to Lily. We’re a little messy, we’re trying to find love, our career, societal expectations, family expectations—so where do we find ourselves? Where do we find our happy medium? I think so many women are struggling with that [question] of “What makes us happy?” That’s the journey that Lily is going through, and I’m really excited for everyone to relate to that journey.

Are Santiago and Nick going to have any scenes together this season? They’re both professing their love for the same woman, so I am curious about their potential interactions.

Rome Flynn: That’s actually the storyline. Santiago and Nick—that’s where the triangle is. Emeraude’s on the outside of that.

Desmond Chiam: Yeah. Right. Yeah. [Laughs]

Rome Flynn: That’s really what’s happening. You’ve got to really see under the subtext. You know, it’s always interesting to play these sorts of things where you’re in between. It sucks being on the opposite end where you’re not that guy, and so I think we do get some of that too.

Desmond Chiam: Yeah, we do finally get to have a few scenes together, which is really nice, because, man, we got along really well in the first season. We should work together! In season two, we get some time together, which is really nice. Not to give anything away, but it’s a tense scene and it was fun.

Last season, Lily told Nick that she wasn’t in love with him. Do you think he believes that she does have feelings for him and doesn’t realize it?

Desmond Chiam: I think he’s just smart enough to believe it. I think he’s naive and idealistic enough to hope for the opposite. I think he hopes that there is a part that is still open to the idea. He thinks he’s moved on, but he shall find out, in fact, that that is not true. And that’s part of his story of growing up and getting in touch with those emotions. He’s such a dumb face. He’s such a dumb dude. And to see him truly wise is great. It’s so nice.

Emeraude Toubia: Let love go, and if it comes back, it’s meant to be.

This facade that Lily’s parents put on for their kids is really what shaped her idea of what a relationship is supposed to look like. Now that that fantasy has been shattered, how is this going to affect her approach to love and romance in season 2?

Emeraude Toubia: I think two things are in debate on the show. Fate versus actually doing the work and doubling down on your partner. So what do you believe in? Do you believe in fate? That God or the universe puts everything in your path, and you’re supposed to just fall into it? Or are you supposed to work to get it? So I feel that is what Lily is juggling. What’s supposed to happen with her life?

What are you most excited about for fans to see this season? Is there anything that you can tease?

Emeraude Toubia: Episode 2! The opening! Always the opening of episode 2! Season 1 and now season 2 is just going to be very sexy. And let’s just say Lily fulfills a little bit of her fantasies. That’s what I’m most excited for everyone to see.

Desmond Chiam: Oh, yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes. I’m not going to give it away. People are going to freakin’ love that. [Laughs] We’re being so coy.
