Inspired by seventeenth-century Irish folklore, the first two episodes of The Faceless Lady premiere on April 4 in Meta Horizon Worlds. Crypt TV and Meta’s first-ever scripted VR episodic series puts a modern-day twist on the legend of Lady Margaret Hodnett, a spirit rumored to haunt Belvelly Castle. The official synopsis states that the horror story “follows three couples who have been invited to a medieval castle in Ireland for a weekend competition where they will either win her games or lose their lives.” It consists of six half-hour episodes, with a new installment dropping every Thursday until the finale.
Presented by Eli Roth, The Faceless Lady stars Staz Nair (Rebel Moon), Tara Lee, Daisy Jelley, Mei Henri, Ugo Onwughalu, Sophie Rebecca-Jones, and Ned Dennehy. Roth is no stranger to virtual reality, having previously worked on Haunted House: Trick VR Treat and Be Mine: A VR Valentine’s Slasher. The Faceless Lady Is A New Kind Of Immersive Horror
In Screen Rant’s exclusive clip from The Faceless Lady, viewers are able to experience the show’s 180 format by toggling the arrows in the upper left-hand corner. It opens in the castle with three couples learning the basics of the competition. They are told that their commitment to playing the games and their love for one another are the only two requirements.

Ned Dennehy’s character takes the group outside and proceeds to answer questions about the game’s history. Over the next 36 hours, the contestants must recreate the events of the night the castle was sieged. However, when the host reveals that they are not allowed to leave the grounds for any reason, eyebrows are raised.
A straw dummy, meant to represent a sentry, is uncovered, and the rules of the first round are explained. They will each take turns throwing an ax, with the winner being the first to knock the sentry off its perch. The clip ends before the contest officially begins, but viewers can experience the outcome for themselves when The Faceless Lady makes its debut.
