Elden Ring’s Xbox Store Page Reveals 50GB File Size

The game’s official Xbox Store page indicates that Elden Ring will clock in at approximately 50GB on Xbox consoles. Such a revelation comes only days after FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment uploaded roughly 20 minutes of Elden Ring gameplay, which showcased the vast open-world setting, in-game map, combat, and exploration.

Previously scheduled for a late January 2022 launch on consoles and PC, Elden Ring recently became the subject of a four-week delay that will now see the much-anticipated project hit store shelves in late February. Those itching to get their hands on FromSoftware’s latest opus will still have an opportunity to play a little early, though, thanks to a Closed Network Test scheduled to run across five three-hour sessions from Friday, November 12 through Sunday, November 14. Bandai Namco only plans on hosting the Elden Ring network test sessions for consoles; as of now, there is no word on whether PC players can expect to gain access to an early build ahead of launch.

The Xbox Store page for Elden Ring features a few new details, namely with regards to its file size. As reported by GamingBolt, the “Additional info” section under the page’s “More” tab reveals that Elden Ring weighs approximately 50GB on Xbox hardware. Presumably, the free space requirements will be similar on PlayStation platforms as well, though it could bear a larger, or smaller, file size on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S – firmer details on this front are likely to remain under wraps until much closer to launch, however. 50GB for an open-world game seems pretty standard as of now. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s file size, for instance, clocked in at 45GB on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at launch. Meanwhile, Far Cry 6 came in at  50GB-plus for Sony’s and Microsoft’s new-gen hardware.

As the Closed Network Test draws near, FromSoftware continues to tease fresh information about Elden Ring. One such tease went live late last week in the form of Character Class reveals. The five Elden Ring classes will include all of the following, according to a Twitter post from the game’s official account: Warrior, Enchanted Knight, Prophet, Champion, and Bloody Wolf. In the tweet, each Character Class was accompanied by a picture showcasing their individual looks. And needless to say, this particular Elden Ring reveal significantly increased the hype.

Elden Ring slashes its way onto PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on February 25, 2022.
