One of the strongest Ashes of War for melee-focused Strength and Dexterity builds in Elden Ring is Royal Knight’s Resolve, a weapon art that increases the attack power of an armament by 80%. This effect lasts for 10 seconds and is applied on the first strike landed on a target. The buff is highly effective for a downward jumping attack or a single heavy-damage/one-shot melee ability. Royal Knight’s Resolve is an upgraded version of Elden Ring‘s Ash of War: Determination, with the main difference being the increase in both the damage buff and FP cost.
To get Royal Knight’s Resolve in Elden Ring, Tarnished must find a hidden gallery within the Volcano Manor of Mt Gelmir. Adventurers will begin their search from the Grace site in the Prison Town Church, accessed by taking the secret pathway in the first room on the right down the hall from the manor’s main chamber. After joining the Volcano Manor clan, players can enter the room once they’ve received the Drawing-Room Key from Tanith.
From the Prison Town Church, Tarnished must make their way across the rooftops in the west and past the grotesque dungeons to the Guest Hall Site of Grace. Afterward, they must drop to the village ruins below to reach the cage lift leading to the steps of the Temple of Eiglay. Alternatively, this elevator can be accessed by dying to the Abductor Virgin beneath the watermill in Raya Lucaria. Both routes above lead to the front of the Temple of Eiglay, but the latter is available for those who wish to get Royal Knight’s Resolve before reaching Altus Plateau.

After arriving at the steps near the temple, activate the bridge leading back to the Prison Town Church. Next, Tarnished must complete a small yet somewhat tricky platforming to reach the ledge guarded by an Abductor Virgin. To execute this jump, hop onto the nearest chess pawn-shaped figures near the right chain wheel of the bridge. After getting on top of the wheel, sprint-leap across to the extended section of the ledge ahead.
Run past the hostile Abductor Virgin and into the open doorway in the west. Go down the stairwell, turn right, and head straight for the chamber with the fireplace in the distance, avoiding the crawling Albinaurics along the way. Elden Ring Tarnished can loot a corpse with the Ash of War: Royal Knight’s Resolve lying in front of the mantel.
