Slaying enemies in Elden Ring is about to get even more fun, thanks to new mods that are adding fan-favorite characters from Star Wars and Berserk. Modders have been making lots of changes to the widely successful open-world game. One of the most popular mods adds an Easy Mode to Elden Ring, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to mods for Elden Ring.
Video game mods have helped fix broken features, unlock previously-cut material, add memes, and more. Since Elden Ring’s release, the PC modding community has been extremely active in creating new content. Hilarious mods have reskinned intimidating bosses into popular characters like Shrek and Thomas the Tank Engine, which may be even more intimidating depending on specific preferences. Modders don’t seem to be slowing down with new mods allowing players to play as fan-favorite characters, and with plenty of options to choose from, mods are getting even more creative and fun.
Elden Ring fans and talented modders of Soulsborne games are teaming up in a project that makes Star Wars‘ Darth Maul and Berserk‘s Guts fully playable. Reported via Kotaku, players can don the armor and moveset of Berserk’s Black Swordsmen, plus the red saber staff-wielding Darth Maul. The mods are being developed by Call Of The Abyss (COTA Studios), and include realistic character models plus unique weapons and abilities. The mods, including Maul’s famous weapon and Gut’s “Berserk state” ability, can be downloaded through COTA’s Patreon page. Subscribers also gain the ability to vote on new content to be modded into Elden Ring.
Elden Ring has successfully brought many fans together, but Soulsborne modders and YouTubers Garden of Eyes and COTA Studios are actively creating more to enjoy in the game. The pair recently started a YouTube series that adds their favorite characters across pop culture to Elden Ring, explained with a plot involving multiversal rifts that add characters like Guts as an incredible boss fight. The Darth Maul mod would make an excellent addition to the pair’s Elden Ring Multiverse series. Still, what characters the modders plan to add next is currently unknown.
The gameplay style of games like Elden Ring and Dark Souls often allows players to use their imaginations to craft whatever story they desire for their avatars. However, with COTA Studios’ new mods, Star Wars and Berserk fans can actually play as the characters they admire. While those mods are still being developed and adjusted, it’s exhilarating to imagine what new epic boss battles and content modders will bring to Elden Ring next.
