Elden Ring Made In Dreams Looks Just As Impressive As The Real Game

A talented creator has used the user-generated content platform Dreams to create a complex and detailed rendition of Elden Ring‘s The Lands Between. The PlayStation-exclusive game-making and sharing system was introduced a few years ago by Little Big Planet developer Media Molecule and has since been used to craft unique and impressive video games and virtual environments. One user even crafted a controllable Transformers-style airplane in Dreams.

Plenty of ink has been spent writing about the confounding and alluring space that is The Lands Between. Elden Ring‘s massive digital world has already inspired plenty of fan art and online discussion, as it presents a grandiose sense of mystery and exploration. The landscape, particularly in the opening areas of the game, is reminiscent of traditional fantasy worlds, as it is filled with castles, green pastures, and mountains. The world is also dense and vertical, meaning that it is difficult to get a complete sense of various areas before spending several hours exploring them. The sheer scope and diversity of The Lands Between have driven several players to voraciously speed through Elden Ring in an attempt to see all it has to offer.

While it’s difficult to match this sense of wonder and majesty, a Dreams creation from artist Martin Nebelong comes pretty close. In a time-lapse video Nebelong shared on Twitter, viewers can watch as he makes deft use of the creative tools offered in Dreams to piece together gargantuan mountain ranges, verdant forests, and a breathtaking castle not unlike the many presented in Elden Ring. Nebelong also applies a fog asset to the creation, which adds to its feeling of mystery and scale.

Nebelong’s video, along with the cinematic orchestral music that backs it, does a surprisingly good job of capturing the spirit and atmosphere of Elden Ring‘s world. The dramatic geography of inhospitable cliffs, ravines, and forests contain just as many Elden Ring secrets and mysteries as the structures and cities that inhabit them. By accurately replicating that geography in this creation, Nebelong has managed to capture a sliver of that enigmatic storytelling.

At first glance, Nebelong’s final product looks like it could have been pulled straight from an Elden Ring poster, which makes his statement about never having played the game all the more surprising. It’s clear that FromSoftware’s latest release has had a massive impact on not only those who have played it, but even those who are just familiar with it. As more people get their hands on Elden Ring, more pieces of fan art are sure to arise.

Dreams is currently available on PS4 and PS5.
