The Dung Eater Puppet is a Spirit Summon in Elden Ring that is formidable enough to stand on its own and even potentially solo lesser bosses in the Lands Between. Having Dung Eater fighting by one’s side will provide substantial benefit in combat, as the Puppet wields the Sword of Milos, a Greatsword imbued with the unique skill, Shriek of Milos. This Elden Ring weapon art can reduce the defense and ailment resistance of foes. As a result, Tarnished will be able to proc status effects such as Frostbite or Blood Loss much faster and deal more damage thanks to the damage negation reduction.
Moreover, the Dung Eater’s Sword of Milos Greatsword is enchanted with a passive to inflict Bleed on its targets. Thus, with all of its perks put together, the tanky Dung Eater Puppet Spirit Summon can be a potent ally, especially after being upgraded with Ghost Gloveworts via Roderika.

Unlocking the Dung Eater Puppet in Elden Ring is tricky since it requires Tarnished to progress through Dung Eater’s and Preceptor Seluvis’s questlines. Furthermore, players will need to locate Dung Eater’s real body within the Leyndell’s sewers. Accordingly, entering the Royal Capital in Elden Ring requires the protagonist to have slain at least two Demigods and reached a recommended character level of 100.
Unlocking The Dung Eater Puppet In Elden Ring
Elden Ring Tarnished can start their endeavor for turning Dung Eater into their Puppet by first heading into Leyndell and collecting a single Seedbed Curse. Take the curse and give it to Dung Eater, who can be found in the room next door to the Twin Maiden Husks in the Roundtable Hold. He will provide Tarnished the Sewer-Gaol Key, which can be used to open his cell within the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds. After entering his prison and speaking with him, return to his room in the Roundtable Hold to find his message, telling players to challenge him at the small moat section west of the Capital Rampart.
After defeating him and acquiring his Greatsword in Elden Ring, return to him again in the Roundtable Hold and exhaust his dialogue. Finally, go back to his cell in the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds to make sure he’s now tied to a chair. Next, begin Ranni’s questline by speaking with her in Ranni’s Rise. After speaking with her associates’ spirits, go to Seluvis’s Rise and speak with Preceptor Seluvis to receive Seluvis’s Potion. He will task the player with giving this potion to Nepheli Loux, but Tarnished will instead give it to Dung Eater in his cell. Afterward, purchase all of Seluvis’s Sorceries and read his message within his secret Puppet Lab northwest of Ranni’s Rise. Return to him and receive one Puppet. Summon it and return to Seluvis to request another Puppet. He should have the Dung Eater Puppet for sale for 5 Starlight Shards in Elden Ring.
