Elden Ring Free Game Contest Will Reward Creative Team Names

FromSoftware is celebrating the upcoming launch of Elden Ring with a giveaway contest that will reward creative fans with copies of the game. The news comes in recognition of Dark Souls‘ being crowned Ultimate Game of All Time at the Golden Joystick Awards 2021, beating out the likes of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Minecraft.

Elden Ring is still a few months away from launch, but excitement for the game has arguably never been higher thanks to a recent network test. Earlier this month, lucky players selected to partake in the event were able to test out the game ahead of its 2022 release, enjoying limited-time gameplay across a full weekend. The beta test has given fans a taste of the next FromSoftware game by exploring and battling their way through the new realms of the Lands Between, with some of Elden Ring‘s features and bosses on offer.

Five lucky teams will receive two Elden Ring codes on a platform of their choosing in time for the game’s February release. The competition will be running until November 30 at 23:59 CET / 2:59 PM PST, with winners announced on December 1.

Despite the contest only recently being announced, Elden Ring fans have already flocked to the tweet in the hopes of winning free copies of the game. The title is quickly becoming one of the most highly-anticipated 2022 releases, and positive reactions to the network test have only made players more eager for the launch. The beta test was one of the bigger gaming events of the last few months, and even saw people selling their Elden Ring access codes on auction websites like eBay, with some players paying hundreds of dollars for a code to test out the game.

The Elden Ring contest seems to suggest FromSoftware is doubling down on its February 25 release after delaying the game from its original January launch date. 2021 saw a large number of game delays, in part due to the ongoing global pandemic, which saw a shift in development as many studios turned to working from home. Unlike other beta tests, the Elden Ring early access showed minimal issues for players, already displaying the high standard of polish FromSoft players are used to seeing. This likely means that further Elden Ring delays aren’t on the cards, and with players eager to get their hands on the game, it’s certainly hoped that this is the case.

Elden Ring will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 25, 2022
