Dragon Ball’s Cell Becomes An Avenger In New Iron Man Helmet Redesign

In the world of Dragon Ball, the brutal villain known as Cell perfected his final form so he could take on Goku and the rest of the Z-Warriors in a battle for the ages, with a new Iron Man-inspired, fan-redesigned helmet showing fans what Cell would look like as a card-carrying member of the Avengers!

Recently shared on Instagram by Superior Mike 3D (@mike_dd3d), this creative talent is all about making custom sets of cosplays that show off Mike’s dedication to his craft, with special focus paid to characters that have some sort of full-body costume as opposed to the standard spandex-clad or non-masked variety. Creating more than a few working Iron Man armors like the all-white Superior Iron Man, an Iron Man/Venom hybrid, and even a movie-accurate MCU Iron Man design, Mike has also tried his hand at dressing as Batman from Batman: Black and White fame, as Terry McGinnis in his futuristic Batman Beyond suit, as the comic version of Iron Spider from Spider-Man’s Civil War days, and in a twist on his usual fully covered cosplays, the scantily clad version of Namor from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever!

Iron Man’s Latest Helmet Design Takes After Dragon Ball‘s Cell

Acting as the main villain from the beginning of the Imperfect Cell Saga to the end of the Cell Games Saga, Cell is a bad guy whose bug-like visage and iconic final form have gone down as one of the better Dragon Ball designs right up there with Dragon Ball alum Frieza and the many versions of Majin Buu. Meanwhile, Iron Man has more sets of new and improved armor than he can shake an Arc Reactor at, oftentimes having enough specialized choices to pick from — like the oversized Hulkbuster Armor and the more traditional Extremis Armor look — ensuring that Tony is never at a loss for a new set of duds. And now, thanks to Mike, Cell has become the next armored design in Tony’s Avengers arsenal!

Looking almost exactly like Cell just mapped to an Iron Man helmet, Mike somehow manages to nail every aspect of this Dragon Ball x Marvel crossover design by staying true to both characters he’s drawing inspiration from. Mimicking Cell’s purple and green color scheme as well as the placement of his bug features, Mike’s short clip sees the camera zip and zoom around not only his Iron Cell helmet but also a second helmet that acts as a perfect replica of Cell’s Dragon Ball-accurate character design, right down to Cell’s disapproving frown. Finishing things off with an Iron Man-exclusive set of glowing eyes, Mike successfully uses his expertise in creating Iron Man armors in a new way while showing off what’s possible when leaning into his love for all things Dragon Ball.

Since Mike presents both helmets side-by-side throughout the video, it’s made even more apparent how well he was able to adapt Cell’s design to Iron Man’s, turning this piece of cosplay/fanart into something far more unique and impeccably made than even the professionals in Hollywood seem to be capable of. So while Iron Man and Cell won’t be crossing paths anytime soon, it’s good to know creative talents like Superior Mike 3D (@mike_dd3d) are kicking around the nerd community to give fans something they can’t see anywhere else!
