Dragon Ball Super Finally Gives Fans the All Out Saiyan Battle Royale They’ve Always Dreamed Of

Warning: Spoilers for Dragon Ball Super, chapter 103

Dragon Ball Super‘s latest chapter escalated from a fight between father and son to an all-out Saiyan brawl, giving every Saiyan character (except young Pan, of course) a chance to battle it out. While it didn’t answer the question of who’s strongest, the battle did deliver on a dream some fans have kept for a long time.

Chapter 103 opens with the fight between Goku and Gohan, with the end result being that Goku was incredibly proud of the progress his son had made in his absence. Goku encouraged Gohan to battle with Broly next, as both had such wild and difficult to control energy. Broly was able to learn a little something while battling Gohan, and became better able to manage his own Super Saiyan transformation, not losing himself as he had previously. Vegeta grows tired of watching and decides he wants to fight Gohan, prompting Goten and Trunks to challenge Broly.

Not one to be left out of the fun, Goku joins in, and soon all six Saiyans are duking it out on Beerus’ World.

The Saiyan Battle Royale Left No Clear Winner

The battle quickly grows quite rowdy, knocking over the massive tree that dominates the landscape of Beerus’ World. Vegeta and Gohan are shown exchanging blows before being interrupted by Goku, while Goten and Trunks fight Broly together–although not without some accidental hits on each other. By the end, all the combatants are left lying on the ground in a crater, fully exhausted from the absurd levels of power on display. Unfortunately, that means that there was no clear winner of the fight, leaving fans without an answer as to who’s currently the strongest Saiyan of them all.

While fans probably would’ve appreciated this free-for-all going on a little longer, it still fulfilled the dream of seeing all these Saiyan characters face off in one giant brawl. Broly, in particular, has been a big question mark as to what power he’s currently able to wield without going totally feral, and this fight seems to have established that he’s now able to manage himself much better, as he was able to keep up with Gohan in his Beast form while only in the first level of Super Saiyan.

Dragon Ball Super Confirms It Will Not Come Back Soon, Entering Indefinite Hiatus

New information reveals that Dragon Ball Super will not come back soon, as previously thought.

In his fight with Goku, Gohan was able to prove that he was able to land a hit on his father even in Ultra Instinct mode, so for Broly to be performing so well against Gohan suggests that he’s at an impressive level of power, even just at Super Saiyan. While it will likely take a fair amount of time for Broly to be in a position to ascend to higher levels of Super Saiyan, it seems he’s proven that he can still be quite useful in a fight.

Although these characters have (mostly) sparred with one another individually before, it was quite cool to see every Saiyan character going at it at once. Hopefully, it’s a sign of things to come in Dragon Ball Super, and Gohan, Goten, Trunks, and Broly will have a bigger role to play in whatever new challenge might come their way.
