Drag Race UK vs. World: Jimbo Reveals She Wants Baga Chipz To Win

Following her elimination from RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. the World, Jimbo placed her bet for the competition’s winner as Drag Race UK season 1 finalist Baga Chipz. The Canada’s Drag Race contestant didn’t showcase what the judges were looking for in episode 3’s Rusical challenge. She ended up going home in seventh place, with Pangina Heals eliminating her to allow one of the franchise’s staple contestants, Jujibee, the opportunity to stay and fight for her place within the competition.

From the moment she first appeared on Canda’s Drag Race season 1, Jimbo received a massively positive response from fans. Her quirky, campy personality and zany looks on the runway amassed the British Columbia-based comedy queen one of the biggest followings from the Canadian spin-off series. She’s currently the second most followed queen on Instagram from her season with over 356,000 followers–only to be topped by the season’s winner, Priyanka. While she may not have made it to the top four during her first time competing on the sensational drag competition show, she was granted a second chance at the crown when she was asked to take part in BCC Three’s new addition to the franchise, RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. the World.  While she was at the top of the Drag Race competition for two weeks in a row, her victory streak was cut short due to her performance in West End Wendys: The Rusical in episode three.

In a post-elimination interview with Digital Spy, Jimbo revealed that her pick to win the debut season is none other than Baga Chipz. “If I didn’t return, I would love to see Baga Chipz win because I feel like she is the people’s princess. She’s the most famous woman in Britain.” Jimbo boasted about Baga’s potential in the competition, highlighting her commitment to each challenge, elevated fashion sense and grace. She went on to discuss the backlash that Baga received from fans after the most recent episode. In regards to how Baga was portrayed on the show, Jimbo explained that she’s simply playing a character just like everyone else in the competition, adding, “There’s a whole cast of people and everyone is trying to different degrees.”

Jimbo also revealed that if she were presented with the opportunity, she’d be more than happy to go through the Drag Race experience for a third time. She explained that she’d certainly jump for any chance to share her artistry and her fervor for the art form of female impersonation. World of Wonder, the production company behind Drag Race, recently announced a show on their streaming service that features Jimbo called Jimbo vs. Pea.

While Jimbo may have her bets set on Baga Chipz taking the crown, it’s far too early in the competition to point out a definite frontrunner. After delivering a lip-sync that wowed the judges and won her the challenge, Pangina cemented herself as a fearsome competitor against the other queens. So far, Pangina is tied with Drag Race Holland season 1 runner-up Janey Jacké for being the Top Two Queens of the Week the most. And with six queens left in the competition, the race to become the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. the World truly is anyone’s game.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs. the World airs Tuesdays at 4 p.m. ET/PT on the WOW Presents Plus streaming service.
