After being permanently banned from Twitch three weeks ago, Dr. Disrespect has broken his silence for the first time to discuss what has been happening behind the scene. At first, Guy “Dr. Disrespect” Beahm opted for an interview to talk about the ban, rumors, and a potential comeback that was then followed by a minute-long music video featuring The Doc’s vocal talents.
Dr. Disrespect was permanently banned three weeks ago for reasons that remain unknown. A Twitch spokesperson vaguely stated that the Doc was banned due to violating Twitch’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Initially, Dr. Disrespect claimed he was not given a reason for the ban, and three weeks later he is sticking to that same story. A few insiders and fellow streamers were quick to claim that they knew the reason for his ban, but could not share the details because of the legality of the situation. Doc has yet to confirm or deny any of the rumors involving criminal activity.
In an interview with PC Gamer, Doc is asked a series of questions regarding his ban and the rumors that have been circulating regarding alleged criminal activity. The majority of the questions asked were pointed at Doc’s claim that Twitch had not given a reason for his ban. Doc stuck to his guns and continued to state that he was never given a reason for the ban and that Twitch has cut off all communications with him. While Doc did state he has seen the rumors and that he did not want to engage with any of them, he did state that he had to be careful with what he told the interviewer with legal counsel being involved.
New information coming out of the interview was sparse, although Dr. Disrespect did state that he was planning to make a return to streaming soon. He stated that he was not interested in any exclusive streaming deals, but has been considering YouTube, Facebook Gaming, and even his own website. Shortly after the interview was published, the Doc posted a music video to his Twitter page. The Doc has been known to precede big announcements with similar videos. This video features Dr. Disrespect’s musical prowess and he is quoted singing, “It’s out of my hands, but I’m still in control.” These lyrics are an obvious reference to Doc’s current situation.
Still, some think that the interviews Doc has done are not genuine or positioned to bring out the full story. According to Rod Breslau on Twitter, the entire thing appears to be a complete failure from gaming media.
So, no reason for Dr. Disrespect‘s ban has been revealed, no date for when he will be making a return or which platform he’ll appear on for said return has been announced, and Doc has once again released a chart-topping (not really) hit single. While the Doc has finally broken his silence after three weeks, the interview gave readers little-to-no new insight into his situation. But at least everyone has a catchy new Dr. Disrespect tune to listen to while they wait for more information.
