Dr Disrespect Isn’t Going To YouTube, Facebook Gaming After Twitch Ban

Dr Disrespect Isn’t Going To YouTube, Facebook Gaming After Twitch Ban

Two weeks have passed since one of Twitch’s largest streamers, Dr Disrespect, was mysteriously banned from the streaming platform. While many speculated the ban may have been part of a publicity stunt for the Doc moving to a different platform, a recent co-stream between gaming insider Rod Breslau and Twitch superstar Hasan Piker revealed that Doc’s ban was not a platform move, and could have been the result of criminal activity.

Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch on June 26 following a very awkward end to his final stream. The ban came unannounced and a spokesperson from Twitch vaguely stated that the Doc was banned due to violating Twitch’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Dr Disrespect then posted to Twitter claiming that Twitch had yet to disclose a specific reason for his ban. While the majority of the Twitch community has been left in the dark, Breslau and Piker claim to know more about the reasoning behind Doc’s lifetime ban.

Hasan Piker, better known as HasanAbi on Twitch, is a political commentator who hosted a co-stream with Rod Breslau to discuss Trump being suspended from Twitch as well as Dr Disrespect’s permanent ban from the platform. A Dextero report quotes Breslau as stating, “No one is talking to Dr Disrespect. YouTube is not talking to Dr Disrespect, that discussion [on joining]… I can confirm that has not happened.” These comments were followed by Breslau confirming that the ban was not a platform move even after Doc edited his Twitter bio replacing the link to his Twitch channel with one that leads to his YouTube channel.

In addition to Doc not moving platforms, Piker claimed that the ban was related to “severe criminal elements.” When the news broke that Dr. Disrepect had been banned, multiple streamers on Twitch, including Breslau, posted to twitter claiming that they knew the reasoning for the ban and that it was very serious. At the time some of these tweets were met with skepticism because of the users’ reluctance to give the reasoning, but after Piker’s comments, they seem more credible than when first tweeted.

Regardless, the reasoning for Doc’s ban still remains a mystery, and it seems as if Dr Disrespect isn’t going to be making his debut on a new streaming platform anytime soon. In fact, if Piker’s allegation are true, the Doc may be taking center stage in a courtroom before returning to the mainstream gaming community.
