After almost two months without streaming, Dr. Disrespect finally returned to the gaming scene on YouTube and had a few words to say about how Twitch mysteriously banned him. The Doc still claims he has no idea why he was permanently banned from his former platform and had no problem bashing Twitch for the way in which the situation was handled.
It was reported on June 26 that Dr. Disrespect had been permanently banned from Twitch. The ban was the likes of which the platform had never seen. No reason was given for the ban, and the Doc was wiped from the platform completely. Subs received refunds and his emotes were removed from the platform. Doc also reported that he had not been given a reason for his ban, while other insiders claimed he was involved in criminal activity.
After a 24-hour teaser, Dr. Disrespect appeared live on YouTube for the first time since his ban, and he had a few words to say regarding Twitch. Near the start of his stream, the Doc addressed the elephant in the room stating that a lot of people want to know why he was banned. After a dramatic build-up, Dr. Disrespect stated, “We still have no idea.” The Doc then went on to state, “As far as I’m concerned, we didn’t do anything to warrant a ban. Let alone how they went about banning us.” He went on to claim that Twitch had not attempted to communicate with Doc’s team before or after the ban took place.
“The thing is, there’s people in the community that are… anxious for an answer. So what that does it creates a level of uh… urgency and speculation. And I think its just a [censored] cockroach approach. Period. “
The Doc also stated that he had to be intelligent with what he was saying due to a “heavy contract.” He claimed that “big money” was involved so he would be letting the legal professionals do what they need to do. This last statement implied that legal action was being taken on some level. The Doc had stated in a previous interview that he and his team had considered taking legal action against Twitch. The Doc also signed a contract at the beginning of 2020, and that could be the contract he is referring to.
For not, Dr. Disrespect is back, and he appears to have made YouTube his new platform of choice. There are still no answers as to why the Doc was banned, and there seemingly never will be. If Dr. Disrespect and Twitch both keep their mouths shut, and the Doc goes on his way to stream on YouTube, the reason for his ban may forever be a mystery. Unless the rumors are true, and the Doc has been involved in illegal activity, but at this point, that is not looking too likely.
