Doom Mod Turns The Iconic Slayer Into A Murderous Uber Eats Driver

One modder has turned the Doom Slayer into a murderous Uber Eats-like driver, creating a comical outline of a possible future racing-like delivery mod for the classic first-person shooter, DOOM. The talented head behind the project is no other than notable modder Edy Pagaza who previously created three other unique total conversion mods for the classic FPS title. Most recently, the modder created DOOM Shinobi which turned DOOM II into a hack ‘n’ slash game similar to Ninja Gaiden that features a third-person camera, wall running, several different unique powers, and the ability to chop demons into bits with a brutal arsenal of different melee weapons.

The modding scene surrounding DOOM is considered to be one of the oldest and ever-expanding in gaming. Starting in the mid-’90s, players started creating custom WADs for the first two classic DOOM titles, and soon after its community quickly became recognized for creating the video game modding phenomenon. Almost three decades later, hundreds of mods continue to be released for DOOM and DOOM II using the flexible DOOM engine, from custom maps to complete unrecognizable total conversion mods, fans and modders continue the legacy of the series that helped revolutionize the first-person shooter genre.

Posted on Twitter, notable DOOM modder Edy Pagaza shared a snippet of a mod WIP that turns classic DOOM into a Carmageddon-like racing game called Doomer Eats. During the clip, the Doom Slayer can be seen riding around in a motorcycle running over demons as a delivery person. While there doesn’t seem to be an objective yet, the mod appears to have a full city and roads that allow players to swiftly use the speed of the motorcycle to run over demons or easily make from it point A to point B. Currently, the mod is only an idea but seeing how far it’s in development it could possibly be announced soon.

Total conversion mods can take hundreds of hours to develop and are so well crafted that they can be easily mistaken for full standalone games. Over the years, modders have transformed DOOM into hundreds of other media properties including Mortal Kombat, Sonic, and even Castlevania by completely replacing resources in the game with custom ones. These are used to extend the classic titles’ longevity and are further proof of how PC gamers have more advantages.

Doomer Eats is almost unrecognizable and its fast-paced racing-like third-person gameplay could help it stand out from other total conversion mods take advantage of the DOOM engine. It’s currently unknown if the mod will be fully developed, but it appears that the notable modder is continuing to break creativity borders, so players can expect more updates in the future.
