Audiences have become increasingly familiar with post-credit scenes in new releases, but should they stick around until the credits for Moonfall finish rolling? Moonfall is the newest science fiction disaster film from director Roland Emmerich starring Patrick Wilson, Halle Berry, and John Bradley. Emmerich can be remembered for his work on Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow. Because the conclusion leaves Moonfall open for a follow-up, and there is no shortage of post-credit scenes in films of the last decade, viewers have rightfully questioned whether they should plan on spending a few extra minutes in the theater after the movie concludes.

While audiences are right to be curious about a potential post-credit scene due to the reasons above, they don’t need to plan to spend extra time in the auditorium because Moonfall does not have a post-credits scene. The movie does, however, contain a couple of twists, and the ending of Moonfall sets up a potential sequel, so it is still worth paying attention to. On the other hand, some viewers are likely to be found sitting through the credits anyway in order to process what they’ve just watched thanks to those twists.

Unfortunately, due to the lack of popularity around Moonfall, there’s a chance a second film will never happen even though Emmerich himself has teased the idea of a follow-up to his newest movie. With all of that said, there’s a chance that Moonfall won’t miss out by not having a subsequent scene because it still might get a subsequent film.
