Does Moonfall Have An After Credits Scene?

Audiences have become increasingly familiar with post-credit scenes in new releases, but should they stick around until the credits for Moonfall finish rolling? Moonfall is the newest science fiction disaster film from director Roland Emmerich starring Patrick Wilson, Halle Berry, and John Bradley. Emmerich can be remembered for his work on Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow. Because the conclusion leaves Moonfall open for a follow-up, and there is no shortage of post-credit scenes in films of the last decade, viewers have rightfully questioned whether they should plan on spending a few extra minutes in the theater after the movie concludes.

In recent years, post-credit scenes have become progressively more popular. This concept has been around for a while, but the trend has largely been spurred thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s credit scenes, which usually hide clues to future films during and after the credits of every new movie. MCU films and Disney+ series cumulatively contain over 50 mid and post-credit scenes. Due to the massive success of the popular franchise, which really has become its own universe, viewers have been conditioned to make sure every film they buy tickets for—especially action and adventure flicks like Moonfall—don’t require them to stay in their seats after the movie ends if they want the full experience.

While audiences are right to be curious about a potential post-credit scene due to the reasons above, they don’t need to plan to spend extra time in the auditorium because Moonfall does not have a post-credits scene. The movie does, however, contain a couple of twists, and the ending of Moonfall sets up a potential sequel, so it is still worth paying attention to. On the other hand, some viewers are likely to be found sitting through the credits anyway in order to process what they’ve just watched thanks to those twists.

Does Moonfall Have An After Credits Scene?

It may have been surprising to many viewers who chose to stick around after the movie—which ended up being a box office bomb in its opening weekend—that there was nothing else to see after they sat through the credits. Unfortunately, due to the lack of popularity around Moonfall, there’s a chance a second film will never happen even though Emmerich himself has teased the idea of a follow-up to his newest movie. With all of that said, there’s a chance that Moonfall won’t miss out by not having a subsequent scene because it still might get a subsequent film.
