Does Disneyland Have Wi-Fi (& 9 Other Things You Need To Know When Planning For Your Trip)

The wonderful world of Disney reached Anaheim, California in the 1950s and became known as Disneyland as opposed to Disney World down in Florida. Over time, Disneyland has grown and updated itself from 18 attractions to over 90, giving Disney fans on the West Coast plenty to see and do no matter the age.

Whether Disney lovers live nearby or are traveling there from out of state, there’s a lot to think about and plan when coordinating a trip to Disneyland. Below we have 10 things to think about before heading down to see Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto for the photo of a lifetime.

Is There Wifi?

Does Disneyland Have Wi-Fi (& 9 Other Things You Need To Know When Planning For Your Trip)

One of the most popular questions in 2020 is “What’s the WiFi password?”. Travelers visiting Disneyland should know that free WiFi is available throughout the park at select areas — not throughout the entire park. The easiest way to find WiFi hotspots is to download the Disneyland app. The app will let visitors know where the nearest WiFi is available. Guests will then choose Disney-Guest before being able to surf the web.

Does Disney Have Vegan Options?

Differing dietary needs and preferences are a big part of today’s culture. From being vegetarian to vegan to Keto to Kosher — everyone chooses to eat differently. Although it’s taken some time, Disneyland is slowly adding more and more preferences for various eaters to its menus.

Plant-based eaters can grab a vegan Mickey Mouse pretzel from carts throughout the park, there’s a Wicket’s Wicked Veggie Wrap inside Galactic Grill, there’s even vegetarian pizzas (you can ask for no cheese to make it vegan)! Ther

Can I Bring My Dog?

If guests are vacationing with their dog and want to know if their pup can access the park, the answer is no. Unless a guest’s dog is an Emotional Support Animal with the verified information, they’re not allowed to enter the park. However, Disneyland does have a kennel near the front entrance where dogs can spend the day while guests are enjoying the park. It costs $20 per pet for the entire day and they’ll be in a climate-controlled facility. Be sure to look at the rules and regulations before bringing your pup because they will need all their shots!

Can I Bring A Cooler?

Disneyland (and vacations in general) can get pretty expensive. Not only will guests need to pay to enter the park for the duration of their trip but they’ll need money for snacks, lunches, dinners, and memorabilia from the trip.

A good way to save some money is to bring your own drinks and snacks — which is allowed. Guests can bring a cooler that is “six-pack” sized or not bigger than 24″ long x 15″ wide x 18″ high. Alcohol is, of course, not permitted but snacks and waters are.

You Can Find Disney Characters Through The App

Downloading the Disneyland Mobile App should be the first thing a person does when visiting Disneyland. It truly is the key to success.

On the app, guests can buy tickets to various parks or excursions, they can use easy maps to show them how to get from one side of the park to the other, and the app will tell them where they can find Disney characters! If guests want to hug Pluto or get an autograph from Princess Jasmine, they can find their location on the app to make their dreams happen.

Where Does The Disney Tram Go?

While strolling around the park, guests may see a tram that whizzes by here and there. Guests should totally utilize the tram because it’s fast, free, and gives everyone a nice break from walking all day.

The Disneyland Monorail rides on a single rail and takes just 13 minutes for a round trip throughout the park. To find the tram, there are two entrances: the Tomorrowland station and the Downtown Disney District station. They run every 10 minutes!

Is The FASTPASS Worth It?

Guests have probably heard of Disney FASTPASSES before but what are they all about? For an extra fee, guests can skip the long lines and reserve their spot in line through Disney FASTPASS. There are reserved waiting areas for FASTPASS users near the attractions. However, there are some limitations to the FASTPASS and they can’t always be used for every ride, so it’s important to know which rides they’re used for. To access the FASTPASS, guests can get it on their Disneyland app or when they enter the park.

What Kind Of Services Are Provided For Those With Disabilities?

Disneyland does a great job of making the park a memorable experience for everyone. They offer services for those who have cognitive, hearing, and mobility disabilities — along with plenty of other services to match the needs of those in the park.

Disneyland also has a Rider Switch program that allows “you to experience an attraction while another member of your party waits with the Guest who does not ride.”

What Is Disney PhotoPass (And Is It Worth It)?

When guests enter Disneyland, they may be approached by a Disneyland worker taking pictures of those ready to enjoy the park. These workers are apart of Disney’s PhotoPass. They can typically be found in front of major attractions waiting for the best shot, or guests can find where they are on the Disneyland app. These photographers will give guests their own PhotoPass card with an ID on it. At the end of the day, they can enter the ID to see all the professional photos that were taken of them at the park. If they enjoy the photos they can buy them. If not, it’s no sweat!

Buying your photos from PhotoPass is totally worth it as they’re professional photographers and they know what looks good at the park.

Smoking & Vaping Are Not Allowed

Disneyland used to have designated smoking areas but as of 2019, the park got rid of all smoking areas to create a better experience for all guests. E-cigarettes and vapes are also no longer allowed as of May 2019. These rules are heavily enforced. Those who need a smoke break will have to exit the park before being allowed in to meet up with their friends and family again.
