Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ Bundle Price & Release Date Revealed

Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ Bundle Price & Release Date Revealed

The expected bundle of Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu will be available starting in November for the same cost as Netflix’s base subscription price. After years of Netflix dominating the streaming landscape, Disney is nearing the launch of its venture into the growing space. Outside of Netflix, Amazon and Hulu have been the two biggest streaming platforms, but Disney is expected to make a big splash in the streaming game later this year when Disney+ debuts.

The exclusive content from popular IPs like Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars joining a rich library of Disney classics made Disney+ a service that many were interested in early on. But, when Disney announced a surprisingly low $6.99 per month subscription fee for Disney+, interest went up even more. The upcoming launch is one of many ways that Disney is marking its territory in streaming, as ESPN+ is growing with a $4.99 a month price point. Disney also recently took full control over Hulu, which has subscription options starting as low as $5.99 per month.

With these various streaming services all under the Mouse House’s control, it was previously teased that a bundle would likely be offered to give users easy and instant access to Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu. During Disney’s earnings call for the third quarter of 2019, CEO Bob Iger confirmed that the bundle will be available for purchase on November 12, the same day that Disney+ launches, at a price of $12.99 per month.

Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ Bundle Price & Release Date Revealed

With a combined price outside of the bundle of $16.97 per month, the bundle is a great deal for anyone interested in subscribing to all three of these services. If only Disney+ and Hulu (with ads) is what interests someone though, an extra dollar a month for the options that come with ESPN+ may still be worth the price of the bundle. It’s currently not confirmed if Disney will also offer bundles that include the ad-free version of Hulu, or even if a bundle for just Disney+ and a version of Hulu is also being considered.

While these streaming services were already good deals on their own, the combined cost of the bundle is still equal to or cheaper than almost every other streaming service. Netflix and Amazon Prime are each $12.99 a month at their basic levels. HBO Max is set to have a starting cost of $16-$17 per month when it launches next year. This will make it all the more fascinating to see what the subscriber count is for Disney+ soon after it launches, and if it’ll have a negative impact on competing services as a result. Either way, Disney is doing everything they can to try and make subscribing to not just one, but all, of their streaming services essential.
