Universal Pictures has dethroned Disney as the highest-grossing studio at the 2023 box office. According to Variety, Disney’s slate grossed $4.8 billion globally, compared to Universal’s $4.9 billion. This marks the first time since 2015 that Disney didn’t take the top spot.
