Disney Announces Hulu Teaming Up With Kardashian-Jenners For New TV Show

Disney is working with the Kardashian-Jenner family on a new reality show on Hulu that will replace Keeping Up With The Kardashianswhich ends in 2021. The fans were very concerned about the fact that E! canceled KUWTK, announcing that the series’ final season would air in 2021. However, some longtime fans also wondered if this had been a decision made by the family in order to move away from reality TV. Nonetheless, the end of this long-running show would be a huge blow to reality television as a whole.

Still, there were KUWTK fans that insisted that this was probably a decision made by the family members to distance themselves from the E! reality series. For different reasons, Kardashian-Jenner family members like Kendall Jenner and Rob Kardashian had a back-and-forth relationship with the show during different periods of time. But the most recent and hard-hitting blow to the series came from Kourtney Kardashian, who announced that she would quit the show in 2020. In any case, when the show’s cancelation came to fruition, most of the family members felt nostalgic and shared touching statements on social media.

But on Thursday, December 10, Disney executives announced at the company’s Investor Day event that they are actively working with the Kardashian-Jenner family for a reality series that will stream on Hulu, and would consequently replace E!’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians. This brand-new Kardashian show was teased on the Hulu highlight reel that included all of the streaming service’s upcoming projects. KUWTK will end in 2021, but this new Kardashian-Jenner reality show on Hulu is expected to premiere in 2021 – assumedly just a few months after its predecessor ends. This is great news for the fans of this family who have been keeping up with them on TV since 2007.

There were certain TV experts who expected that this announcement to happen at some point, confident that another network or streaming service would surely sign a new deal with the Kardashian-Jenner family as soon as Keeping Up With The Kardashians ended. However, it came as a shock that such an announcement was made so soon after KUWTK was canceled – before 2020 even came to an end. Moreover, it is interesting that Disney is the studio behind these negotiations, signaling to the world that the company is definitely interested in producing new content for Hulu, even if the project isn’t a good fit for the very successful Disney Plus.

The fans of Keeping Up With The Kardashians have a reason to celebrate the good news today. The family is staying in the reality TV business, just now moving on to Hulu.
