Dew Drop Diaries Season 2 Trailer Sees Family Fairies Return For More Adventure [EXCLUSIVE]

Dreamworks’ delightful preschool show Dew Drop Diaries is returning to Netflix on December 4, and Screen Rant has an exclusive first look at the trailer. Created by animation veterans Rick Suvalle (who previously developed Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go and worked on DreamWorks’ Doug Unplugs) and Aliki Theofilopoulos (who counts Descendants: Wicked World and Phineas and Ferb among her works), the series is inspired by Rick’s own daughters. Dew Drop Diaries centers on a group of fairies-in-training, who at three inches tall are known as Dew Drops, and the human families they have been assigned to help.

Despite their tiny size, the Dew Drops have huge hearts that are set on making the impossible possible. With their gung-ho, can-do attitude, they work hard to secretly help out their humans with everything from baby teeth falling out to favorite toys getting lost. The show counts on a stellar voice cast, which includes Scarlett Estevez as Eden, Viviann Yee as Athena, Sydney Mikayla as Phoebe, Zehra Fazal as Dr. Tracy Ryan, Spencer Moss as Harper Ryan, Jakari Fraser as Marcus Greene, Olivia Trujillo as Cassie Cortez-Chang, Nick Kishiyama as Dylan Cortez-Chang, Olivia Daniels as Lola Cortez-Chang, Reggie Watkins as Dr. Damon Greene, Bob Bergen as Hammy the Hamster, Bill Farmer as Wilford the Dog, Dee Bradley Baker as Qwak the Chipmunk and Ruffles the Bird, and Brec Bassinger as Willow.

Dew Drop Diaries Season 2 Trailer Sees Family Fairies Return For More Adventure [EXCLUSIVE]

As evidenced by the trailer, Dew Drop Diaries season 2 has plenty of friendship and adventure ahead. Aside from the excitement of flying in their future, the Dew Drops are also surprised by the arrival of cousin Reed Basil, who is as eager to learn as they are. Eden, Athena, and Phoebe are sure to have their hands full and wings heavy while watching over their assigned human families, with hopes high of unlocking the next level of fairy-dom: becoming a Flyer.

Creator Rick Suvalle shared his thoughts on the upcoming season with Screen Rant, providing more insight into the character of Reed. Here’s what he had to say:

I’m so excited for Season 2 of Dew Drop Diaries because our fans get to meet Reed (played by the hilarious Aryan Simhadri), the first boy Dew Drop. He hasn’t been assigned a family yet, so he tries to help our other Dew Drops, often with hilarious and heartfelt results.

Season 2 also continues our series theme of gratitude. We hope that kids watching will continue to take away the idea that even if you have a bad day or things don’t go exactly as planned, there are still things to be thankful for, whether it’s realizing that you’ve tried your best, or that you have friends and family who are rooting for you, no matter what. And of course, we want kids to be thankful for the big victories and celebrations too!

All twelve 22-minute episodes of Dew Drop Diaries season 2 lands on Netflix on December 4.
