Destiny 2: How To Get The Epicurean Fusion Rifle (& God Roll)

Destiny 2: How To Get The Epicurean Fusion Rifle (& God Roll)

The Epicurean Fusion Rifle is one of the Opulent weapons that received rework for Season of the Haunted, complete with a new perk pool and god roll released in Destiny 2. Only some of the perks have changed for The Epicurean, but it’s still a Precision Frame weapon that deals Void damage. Precision Frame Fusion Rifles may not be the most popular option for PvE activities, but they’re a great option for PvP modes.

Unlike most of the gear that can be obtained from the Duality Dungeon activity, The Epicurean is a weapon that can be crafted in Destiny 2 once five Deepsight variations are completed and extracted. Although getting the five Deepsight variations of the Fusion Rifle may prove to be more difficult than obtaining the god roll itself, crafting the weapon will give it access to the enhanced versions of its perks. Fortunately, there are two encounters and secret chests in the new dungeon that have the possibility to reward The Epicurean.

Both The Epicurean and its Deepsight variation are available from the first and final encounters of Duality. It is statistically easier to get the Fusion Rifle from the first encounter because there are only five possible rewards that can be earned, whereas the final encounter has twelve possible rewards. After acquiring The Epicurean for the first time, the weapon can be earned from the first secret chest located inside of the room with four Cabal statues. The second secret chest is near the tenth Repressed Memory location in Duality that can be found inside Calus’s vault just after the second encounter has been completed.

The Best Perks For The Epicurean In Destiny 2

Destiny 2: How To Get The Epicurean Fusion Rifle (& God Roll)

The reworked Epicurean has access to more perks in its barrel column than it had when it was first issued, and almost every barrel perk is viable for both PvE and PvP activities. However, Hammer-Forged Rifling and Smallbore are the best options available because they improve the range of the weapon more than the others without sacrificing anything. Since The Epicurean is also better for PvP than it is for PvE, its best battery perks are Projection Fuse and Particle Repeater, though Liquid Coils and Accelerated Coils offer benefits for both PvE and PvP. Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit activities in Destiny 2 are great places to use The Epicurean, but PvP activities like Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris are where the weapon truly shines with its third and fourth column perks:

  • 1. Surplus/Rangefinder – This is the PvP god roll for The Epicurean.
  • 2. Quickdraw/Rangefinder – Another fantastic roll for PvP if the aforementioned roll isn’t obtained, or if the weapon can’t be crafted yet.
  • 3. Well-Rounded/Rangefinder – Likewise, Well-Rounded is a great perk for a Fusion Rifle in PvP.
  • 4. Feeding Frenzy/Swashbuckler – Those who want to test The Epicurean out in PvE should consider this roll with a Void subclass equipped.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia.
