Destiny 2: How to Find Xur (Locations, Items, & Time of Day)

Destiny 2: How to Find Xur (Locations, Items, & Time of Day)

Xur is one of the many vendors in Destiny 2, appearing for a limited time every week with new items for sale. Although it’s not the same location every week, Xur will appear in one of three locations consistently. Xur’s inventory is always guaranteed to have one item in stock for Hunters, Titans, and Warlocks.

Season of the Lost brought new additions to Xur’s inventory while keeping the same types of items that he has sold in past seasons. In addition to selling Exotic gear, Xur now sells Legendary armor and weapons. Unlike the Exotic gear that can be viewed by all classes, his Legendary armor is only available for the class equipped. For example, a Warlock will only be able to see Warlock gear, but can still see and purchase Destiny 2‘s Hunter and Titan Exotics. Switch character classes to view the other sets of gear.

While the stats on Exotic gear pieces remain the same regardless of the chosen class, the Legendary pieces of gear will all have different stats. For example, the Hunter’s helmet will have different stats than the Titan’s or Warlock’s. The Legendary gear is often best for players who are looking to get to end-game content as quickly as possible, but occasionally there is a high stat roll gear piece for sale that’s viable for Destiny 2 harder PvE content. Regardless of which class is chosen, the Legendary weapons that Xur sells all have the same perks.

Additionally, Xur also offers a Destiny 2 quest for an Exotic Cipher called Xenology. Exotic Ciphers can either be redeemed at Xur for a random piece of Exotic gear or saved and used to craft one of the many weapons from the Exotic Archive. Exchange the Exotic Cipher with Xur for an additional Exotic Engram after the first one is purchased with Legendary Shards. This gives every Guardian a chance to earn five Exotic gear pieces per week.

Xur appears every Friday and leaves every Monday during the daily reset at 1 pm EST. Xur is either going to be located in Destiny 2‘s Tower Hanger, the Winding Cove in the EDZ, or Watcher’s Grave on Nessus. In the Tower Hanger, head left of Amanda Holiday’s station to the edge. Xur is up the first flight of stairs. After loading into the Watcher’s Grave on Nessus, head forward until the large tree is reached. Xur will be high up on the large extending branch. In the EDZ, fly to the Winding Cove and travel to the hilltop with the crashed Fallen ship. Xur will be standing beside it.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia platforms.
