Destiny 2: How to Complete The Light and Dark Bounty (Solstice of Heroes)

Destiny 2: How to Complete The Light and Dark Bounty (Solstice of Heroes)

The Solstice of Heroes, a new emblem, was released for Destiny 2 players who have gone above and beyond within this season of the game, offering them brighter and shinier prizes such as the Light and Dark bounty. As the season has started late and is ending in early September, players will need to quickly step up to gain these items. The Light and Dark bounty can be picked up from Eva Levante, a character that hands out bounties and special event items in the Bazaar Tower.

The Light and Dark bounty amounts to five Solstice Key fragments, XP, Glimmer, and bright dust. To receive these special event items players will need to be fairly comfortable with killing in the Gambit. This bounty will require a lot of specific types of kills.

Kill Guardians

The requirement for this bounty seems simple enough, to “get 20 elemental final blows.” However, the Gambit is a hybrid space of other players and NPCs. Eva Levante doesn’t specify that these final blows must be specifically for other guardians. So killing NPCs will not count towards the bounty.

Switch to Classic Gambit

Players should also take note that many have not gained any of their final blows in Gambit Prime, so they should switch back to the classic version of Gambit to pursue this bounty. This still will only take out part of the struggle for players as during Gambit the enemy Guardians can only be targeted and killed during certain points in a match. This can make this seemingly easy bounty turn into a bit of a nightmare for players who aren’t used to killing Guardians.

Complete Before the End of the Season

Players should remember that these seasonal bounties are only available to be completed within a limited time. As we are late into August and the season already got a late start, many players may not have much of a chance to get this bounty at all. The ending date for the Solstice of Heroes is September 8th, which leaves most players less than a week to achieve this goal. However, the Light and Dark bounty is one of many different goals and bounties for players to achieve within the end of the season. There will also always be a new season to look forward to if players have run out of time to gain this achievement.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.
