Delicious in Dungeon episode #4 has made it clear that the series will always strive for a balance of comedy and serious storytelling, and the results make for another great episode. What Happened In Delicious In Dungeon Episode 4?
In the first half of Delicious in Dungeon episode #4, “Stewed Cabbage/Orcs”, the Touden Party arrived on the third floor and harvested cabbage and other vegetables Senshi was growing on the backs of golems. Afterward, everyone learned that Senshi goes out of his way to clean and maintain the dungeon, and much to Marcille’s disgust, that included gathering poop from adventurers to use as fertilizer for the golems. According to Senshi, his actions keep the dungeon from going out of control and causing trouble for everyone, and learning that made everyone gain a new level of respect for Senshi.
In the second half, the Touden Party was kidnapped by orcs while trying to sell their vegetables to no avail. Tensions were further heightened by Marcille fighting with their leader and Laios leaving a bad impression through his lack of a goal, but after Senshi made a variety of bread dishes, the two groups could finally make peace. The orcs then told the Touden Party where they could find the Red Dragon, and the episode ended with Laios saying that he would try to give serious thought to what he would do if he became the ruler of the dungeon.

Delicious In Dungeon Embraces One Of The Most Classic Fantasy Elements
With Delicious in Dungeon episode #5, the series is now embracing the classic fantasy element of racial tension between fantasy races. Marcille’s interactions with the orc leader and his own opinions on elves and humans make it clear that there are major tensions between the various races of the world, and that’s likely to only be further fleshed out in future episodes. With Delicious in Dungeon’s unique writing style, it will be interesting to see how it handles such a common staple of the fantasy genre, and that leaves a lot to look forward to with episode #5 and beyond.
