Deezer Adds One-Click Library Transfers From Spotify, Apple Music & More

Deezer is making it easier than ever to switch music streaming services with a one-click “Transfer your favorites” button within the app. While not as popular as Apple Music or Spotify, Deezer has stood its ground over the years. The company has been focusing on CD-quality lossless music, podcast integration, and what Deezer calls Flow, a playlist that changes based on favorites and the user’s mood.

Deezer has a ton of plan options for every sort of user—from a free-Pandora style option that lets users pick an artist or song and create a playlist around it, to family plans with or without HiFi streaming. The company also offers 50 percent off for students and 25 percent off for a one-year annual subscription. Deezer is available on tons of different hardware such as Sonos, Amazon, Sony, Denon receivers, Harman Kardon, Bang & Olufsen, and even Apple’s HomePod. And like Apple Music’s Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos, Deezer offers a surround sound experience using Sony’s 360 Reality Audio technology.

Deezer is launching an option that lets new users switch to its service and move a user’s entire library to Deezer in one click. This is thanks to a collaboration with Tune My Music, which has long enabled users of all streaming services to easily move from one music streaming service to another. Initially, this required users to pay for a subscription if they were moving more than 1000 favorites from one service to the next. Deezer and Tune My Music are offering this service for free, regardless of how many songs are being transferred.

You Should Give Deezer A Try

Deezer is an excellent alternative to Apple Music and Spotify if neither checks all of the boxes, and using Tune My Music is a great way to move from one service to another without manually moving everything over or starting from scratch. But, of course, using a service such as Tune My Music isn’t bulletproof. There’s a chance for some mismatches here and there. However, those are relatively rare.

Overall, this is good news for anyone wanting to switch to Deezer. It’s a fantastic service with a competitive streaming catalog compared to the bigger services. It even lets users upload MP3s that may not be in the catalog to fill in the gaps for anything that’s missing. In addition, Deezer offers a one-month trial to new users, so there’s nothing to lose.
