Deadpool Variants Break The MCU’s Multiverse In A Brilliant Deadpool 3 Fan Poster

A new fan-made poster for Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3 imagines several versions of the Merc with a Mouth from across the multiverse coming together in a destructive MCU adventure. Deadpool 3 was confirmed to be in development by Ryan Reynolds and Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox in 2019. Currently, Reynolds’ Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, is the only character from Fox’s X-Men Universe who is confirmed to be joining the MCU permanently, but recent news regarding Phase 5’s Deadpool 3 suggests that he won’t be the only version of Deadpool coming to the MCU.

Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool is not only joined by Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in a new fan-made poster for Deadpool 3 shared by Edwin Vega, but the pair are also accompanied by several Deadpool variants from across the MCU’s multiverse.

Joined by Dogpool, a samurai incarnation of Deadpool, Lady Deadpool and Kid Deadpool, Reynolds and Jackman’s upcoming 2024 MCU debut has been hinted at being jam-packed with Deadpool variants. Deadpool 3 is expected to see Deadpool and Wolverine traveling the multiverse on their journey to the MCU’s Earth-616, so it’s very possible they could meet several versions of themselves along the way.

Deadpool 3’s narrative is expected to rely heavily on the multiverse, which means there’s no doubt alternate versions of Deadpool will appear. Set photos from Deadpool 3 have proven that at least two different variants will be introduced to the MCU. Dogpool was revealed to be in Deadpool 3 in December 2023, while more recent images have revealed the existence of a samurai version of Deadpool, who wields a samurai sword, has no scarring, and sports a man-bun. These two, as well as Reynolds’ primary version of Deadpool, are currently the only three confirmed variants to appear in Deadpool 3.

Edwin Vega’s fan poster depicts Deadpool, Samurai Deadpool and Dogpool alongside Lady Deadpool and Kid Deadpool, two popular iterations of the Merc with a Mouth from Marvel Comics that haven’t yet been confirmed to be appearing in Deadpool 3. Ryan Reynolds’ own wife, Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively, has been rumored to appear as the MCU’s Lady Deadpool, however, and after Kid Loki’s debut in Phase 4’s Loki, it’s possible a child variant of Deadpool could also be introduced. With these variants potentially debuting, there’s the possibility for Marvel Comics’ Deadpool Corps to have a role in the Phase 5 movie.

The Deadpool Corps were a team of Deadpool variants from across the multiverse who came together in 2010’s Prelude to Deadpool Corps #1 to stop a multiverse-devouring entity known as the Awareness. The Deadpool Corps featured Deadpool, Lady Deadpool, Dogpool and Kid Deadpool, as well as numerous other – often hilariously-themed – Deadpool variants, so recent Deadpool 3 reveals could hint at this team coming together in the MCU’s Phase 5. The introduction of this weird, wonderful and violent multiversal team in Deadpool 3 would be fantastic, and could feature the MCU debuts of many unusual and unexpected Deadpool variants.
