Dead To Me: 10 Questions Fans Need Answered In Season 2

Dead To Me: 10 Questions Fans Need Answered In Season 2

Netflix’s Dead to Me drops its second season tomorrow, May 8, and from how the first episode ended, fans have plenty of questions that need to be answered. Starring Christina Applegate as Jen and Linda Cardellini as Judy, both women have been through the wringer with secrets, deaths, and hardships.

In the season 1 finale, Judy admits to killing Ted, and Steve is found floating dead in a pool before the credits roll. With such a shocking ending, season 2 is gearing up to be a juicy one. Here are 10 questions viewers need answered in the new season.

Is Steve Actually Dead?

Dead To Me: 10 Questions Fans Need Answered In Season 2

Dead to Me is filled with so many twists and turns that anything is possible. After all, it’s not just Judy who has secrets to hide — Jen does too. Before Ted went for a run, he and Jen got into a screaming argument that got physical and yet she didn’t touch base on it.

At the end of the first season, Steve shows up to Jen’s house looking for Judy but doesn’t find her. Instead, he has a jarring conversation with Jen by the pool. In the blink of an eye, Jen pulls out a gun on Steve and as the scene changes, he’s seen floating in the pool. But is he actually dead? Only time will tell.

And Who Shot Him?

It’s assumed that Jen shot Steve because the last time we saw him alive he was defending himself from her. However, a few fans pointed out that Steve was shot in the back, which is how he fell face-first into the pool.

But if Jen was facing Steve, doesn’t that mean someone was standing behind him and shot him in the back? If Judy was at Steve’s hit-and-run site, who else had a gun on the property?

Did Anyone Hear The Gun Shot?

Jen lives in a beautiful neighborhood with neighbors who are aware of her situation. We even meet her one neighbor, Karen, who would do anything to hang out with Jen. They eventually do have drinks by the pool and as awkward as it was, it obviously meant a lot to Karen. With that being said, if Jen really did shoot Steve in the back, did someone in the neighborhood hear the gunshot? Things got pretty escalated between the two before the shot. If cops go to the scene of the crime, someone had to have heard something.

Does Jen Forgive Judy?

When Judy told Jen she was the one who killed Ted, Jen was at a loss for words. The only thing she could say is “You can die” before walking away. Judy is left in tears but by the end of the season, Jen called Judy in a panic because of an accident at the house.

With Steve’s dead body floating in the pool, it appears Jen needed Judy more than she thought. Does this mean Jen is swiping what Judy did under the rug? Will the two be new partners in crime and act like none of this ever happened?

Will Judy Ever Be Arrested For Ted’s Death?

When Judy went to the police and said she had to admit something, viewers thought she was going to admit to killing Ted. Instead, she shockingly told the detective about Steve’s money-laundering ways and took out all the money from their joint account. However, she did confess to Jen who then told the detective that Judy was the killer. Unfortunately for Jen, the detective couldn’t do much about it without concrete evidence. Will Judy be arrested in season 2 or will Jen act like the confession was false?

How Are Jen’s Children Coping?

After losing their dad suddenly and their mom acting a bit erratic, it’s obvious that Jen’s two sons were struggling with their new way of life. Things became even more complicated when Jen introduced Judy to her boys and she became a new member of the family. Sadly, Jen’s boys were not coping well with their father’s death. Her eldest was dealing drugs and tried moving in with his grandmother and her youngest had some serious control issues with the choir. It would be nice to see them adjusted and doing better in season 2.

What Are They Going To Do With Steve’s Body?

If Steve really is dead, what are Jen and Judy going to do with the body? Are they going to do the noble thing and call the police or are they going to try and hide it? Now that the detective is aware there’s bad blood between Jen, Judy, and Steve, seeing Steve’s dead body in the pool is enough to launch a full investigation into their lives. But if they don’t call the police, how are they going to be able to hide the dead body of a prominent businessman?

Did Nick Shoot Charlie?

It was actually Nick who realized that Judy could have been the one who killed Ted. Nevertheless, he couldn’t help Judy and Jen too much because he was on a leave of absence from his job as a police officer.

It’s been said that his partner was shot and he needed time off to heal. However, when he got invested in the hit-and-run case, the new detective reminded Nick that he was out of work for psychiatric reasons. Is she implying that Nick was the one who shot his partner? Is this why he hates guns?

Will Judy Ever Get Pregnant?

If Judy doesn’t go to jail and gets to live life as a free woman, will she ever get the family she’s been longing for? She treated Jen’s two sons with such love and respect because in a small way, she wishes she was a mother herself. Adoption could be an option for Judy, but she’s unemployed and homeless; that’s not a great look if she’s trying to adopt.

As much of an antagonist as Judy is in Dead to Me, it would be nice to see her dream of getting pregnant come true in the second season.

Will Judy And Jen Team Up Against Steve?

Jen and Judy might not be ready to be best friends again but they could team up to cover for each other. If Jen killed Steve, Judy could help her get her story straight. And if she does that, then maybe Jen would try to help Judy with the hit-and-run case. Season 2 has to define the relationship between Jen and Judy or everyone is going to find themselves in jail.
