DC’s Three Jokers Are Haunting Batman’s Nightmares

Warning! Spoilers for Batman #125 by DC Comics below

The Dark Knight’s next chapter soon begins, as Batman will face a new villain, new challenges, and, unfortunately, new nightmares about DC’s Three Jokers. In a brand new preview for Batman #125 by DC Comics, Bruce Wayne’s nightmares get worse as he imagines three different versions of the Clown Prince of Crime as he carries the weight of Gotham City on his shoulders.

A new creative team is taking over Caped Crusader’s current ongoing series at DC Comics, as Chip Zdarsky is teaming up with Jorge Jimenez, Belen Ortega, Tomeu Morey, and Luis Guerrero starting with Batman #125. Batman will be paired with a Robin again, as Tim Drake will join him in his newest adventures. Without his fortune and someone mysteriously murdering the billionaires of Gotham City, the Dark Knight will be forced into action as chaos builds around him. However, amidst all the calamity, Bruce Wayne will suffer from nightmares of a dark future, seemingly including the Three Jokers.

In a preview of Batman #125 from DC Comics, the first page features Alfred seemingly stopping an alert as something ominously beeps inside the Batcave. The following image features the Three Jokers standing over everyone close to Bruce Wayne, including the different Robins and Catwoman. The Three Jokers are the similar versions that appeared in the recent miniseries of the same name, as they are potentially The Criminal, The Comedian, and The Clown. The Jokers urge Batman to wake up from his nightmare and when he does, he admits to needing to let go of the past and think about the present.

The rest of the preview features Bruce Wayne waking up and calling Selina Kyle, as he wants to make sure that everything is alright with his former partner. Batman tells Catwoman that he needs to go after hearing that someone else is with her. It seems that things aren’t going Bruce’s way in both his waking hours and nightmares – especially with the news that a  murderer is on the loose in Gotham City.

The dark look into Bruce Wayne’s future may hint at the Three Jokers becoming DC Comics canon. Considering one Joker is already a huge problem, three of them working in tandem would represent one of the biggest threats the hero has ever faced. But are Batman’s nightmares just that, or are they suggesting that the Joker will return to Gotham City unexpectedly with some backup of his own? Readers will find out more soon when Batman #125 by DC Comics arrives in comic book stores on Wednesday.
