Lois Lane has seen Superman face off against numerous powerful threats. She’s helped her husband overcome some of the most menacing villains while helping save innocent people caught in the crosshairs. Now, Lois is getting her own villain: The Kiss of Death.
Lois is dealing with the fact Superman revealed his true identity to the world. She’s immediately put in danger following the revelation as the repercussions of the decision impact both her personal and professional life. Despite that, she is still a star reporter, hellbent on uncovering the truth in Metropolis and beyond.
In preview images for the upcoming Lois Lane #8, a new villain is in town and coming after Lois. The Kiss of Death will be arriving in Metropolis and had a bone to pick. The deadly assassin has “only got eyes for Lois,” and is fixated on the reporter. DC editor Jamie Rich described Lois’ villain and the potential dangers coming her way.
The scariest aspect to the Kiss of Death is she’s only got eyes for Lois,” DC Group Editor Jamie Rich explained in the accompanying release. “Most deadly assassins fixate on one target, sure, but this is extreme. Not to mention, Lois is trying get by without her superpowered husband’s help. We all know Lois can take care of herself, but this one might even be too dangerous for her.
There’s not much known yet about the assassin known as the Kiss of Death. However, it will be interesting to find out how exactly she knows Lois and why she’s so eager on taking her down. It could be that the Kiss of Death sees taking down Lois a way to get to Superman. But, it wouldn’t be surprising if the new villain had a personal connection to Lois – whether that be through Superman or through her reporting.
