DC’s Evil Cyborg Superman Has An Amazing New Costume

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Justice League: Last Ride #4!

In Justice League: Last Ride #4, Cyborg Superman just returned with a brand-new costume. The world of Justice League: Last Ride is supposedly separate from all of DC’s main continuity. This means that they have the ability to completely revamp characters and everything that surrounds them. Additionally, the series depicts the Justice League in a much darker manner. Even Superman, the world’s greatest hero, has questionable morals given that he approved the nuking of Apokolips.

The reason that the Justice League has travelled to Apokolips is that it’s the only place they can hide their prisoner, Lobo. This is due to the atmosphere being so toxic that almost all traces of life can be hidden within its walls. The Green Lanterns tasked the Justice League with keeping Lobo safe due to the incoming forces that threaten to get rid of the bounty hunter before his cosmic trial. Despite the team being broken apart, the league reunite for one last mission on Apokolips.

The incoming forces have been teased since the first issue of the series, but now, they have finally arrived in Justice League: Last Ride #4 by Chip Zdarsky, Miguel Mendonca, Enrica Angiolini. And it’s none other than Cyborg Superman! However, Hank Henshaw looks very different. His skin is green rather than matching Superman’s usual skin tone, it brilliantly emphasizes his unnatural nature. Similar to the sinister and haunting looks of Superman’s other enemy, Brainiac. Also, the neon purple eyes and emblem contrast to his green skin. It’s a great new look that completely differentiates him from the Man of Steel while making him extra sinister.

Superman’s cyborg counterpart has become less unique and has lost any sense of shock. This is because he has been seen so many times that readers are used to Cyborg Superman’s looks. This new green and purple get-up finds a fine balance between making a new revamped look and making Superman scary. It’s noticeably Cyborg Superman, although just presented in a slightly different way. Given how many times readers have seen the same version of the character, it’s refreshing to see Cyborg Superman looking completely different.

In this issue, Cyborg Superman shows up with an armada, presumably to get his hands on Lobo. It seems that he has somehow tracked the Justice League’s location, perhaps with a little bit of inside knowledge. It’s been teased that the Justice League has a traitor in their team, but who could it be? Find out what will happen as Cyborg Superman faces off against the league when Justice League: Last Ride #5 releases on September 14.
