James Gunn’s DC Universe will not be able to get the same treatment by Warner Bros. Discovery for tax cuts like the Batgirl movie and Coyote Vs. Acme.
While Batgirl was controversially canceled, Coyote Vs. Acme was also shelved recently, only for Warner Bros. Discovery to undo their decision. This has raised questions about Gunn’s DC Universe and whether or not the studio could make similar moves to any of the upcoming projects. However, it doesn’t appear to be the case as Deadline reports that Warner Bros. Discovery won’t be able to make last-minute decisions to kill off upcoming DC Universe movies and TV shows from Gunn and Peter Safran, as the trade states that “greenlights moving forward are bonafide and not in danger of any tax tricks.”
