However, DC has officially confirmed that one of these rumored characters will not be joining the ranks of the Suicide Squad despite still playing an unusual role in the game.
Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum #1, by writer John Layman and artist Jesus Hervas, serves as a prequel in a five-issue comic series to Rocksteady’s highly anticipated Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League video game. In the first installment of this mini-series, Amanda Waller guides Commissioner James Gordon through the newly rebuilt Arkham Asylum, accompanied by various inmates, including King Shark and Victor Zsasz.
However, tensions escalate during the tour, resulting in a fatal altercation between Zsasz and King Shark. Victor Zsasz’s demise serves as confirmation that he will not be a playable character in the game.
King Shark Kills Victor Zsasz, Confirming He Won’t Be Playable in Suicide Squad: KtJL
As they are escorted to their cells, Zsasz attempts to intimidate King Shark with threats. However, most of these threats and insults go right over Nanaue’s head. At one point, Zsasz remarks that he can’t wait to “stick” him. Misunderstanding Zsasz’s words, King Shark interprets it as a sexual proposition and politely declines. Victor is quick to clarify that it was “… a threat, not some sex thing,” thus prompting King Shark to respond in turn by biting off Zsasz’s head and sealing the latter’s fate as an unplayable character.
Victor Zsasz was among the speculated Gotham villains who fans hoped might be playable in Suicide Squad: KtJL. However, with his demise, those hopes were dashed. This turn of events ignited heated debates on platforms like Reddit, where fans exhibited three primary reactions to the demise of the classic villain. Some expressed satisfaction at seeing Victor meet his end, while others were incensed at what they perceived as a trivial and undeserving demise for such an iconic figure in Gotham’s rogues’ gallery. The third group was simply astonished by the fervent reactions surrounding Victor Zsasz.
Victor Zsasz Weapon Doll Honors His Death in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League
Despite his demise, Victor Zsasz will still play an unconventional role in Suicide Squad: KtJL. Those who acquire Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham #1 will also receive a code within the issue, enabling them to redeem and add the Victor Zsasz Weapon Doll to their in-game inventory. This serves as a whimsical tribute to the Gotham Rogue and will undoubtedly appease some fans’ discontent. Thus, even though Zsasz may not be physically present, he will be represented in plushie form in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
