SIE Bend Studio recently confirmed the PC version of Days Gone will feature a number of improvements, including better graphics and an unlocked frame rate. PlayStation CEO and President Jim Ryan announced the Days Gone PC port earlier this year in February; in so doing, he additionally confirmed that more of Sony’s first-party exclusives will eventually make the jump. Which games Ryan and Co. may have in mind presently remains a mystery.
Days Gone launched exclusively on PlayStation 4 in the spring of 2019. Early reviews were middling at best, due in large part to reviewers receiving a version of the game that didn’t include the critically important day one patch. Said patch improved the otherwise buggy experience almost tenfold. Hopes are high the PC version won’t suffer a similar fate at launch, though Horizon Zero Dawn’s rocky release on PC left a sour taste in the mouths of countless users.
In a recent post on social media, complete with a funny gif of Deacon St. John, Bend Studio detailed a few of the enhancements that will feature in Days Gone’s PC build. PC users who hop into Deacon’s boots can expect to experience an unlocked frame rate and improved graphics. Whatever other bells and whistles Bend Studio may have up its sleeve for the PC release remains under wraps. More details should emerge in the lead up to launch, however. At the time for writing, though, a firm release date has yet to be specified.
Not long after the PC port’s reveal, Bend Studio shared information about the PC minimum and recommended requirements for Days Gone. Minimum requirements for the processor target an Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD FX 6300. With regards to memory, the minimum requirements propose 8GB of RAM, as well as 70GB of available storage space. Recommended listings mention an Intel Core i7-4770K or Ryzen 5 1500X processor, in addition to an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580 graphics card. 16GB of Ram serves as the recommended memory requirement.
Days Gone is available to play now on PS4 and PS5; the PC version launches on an unspecified date this spring for Steam and the Epic Games Store.
