Darkseid is Fighting The Multiverse’s Justice League in New Preview

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Infinite Frontier #5!

In Infinite Frontier #5, Darkseid will battle the multiverse’s Justice League. Formed of Director Bones’ choice of heroes, the team will be the omniverse’s first line of defence against Darkseid. The featured superheroes on many of Infinite Frontier’s new covers are; President Superman, the Flash Barry Allen, Green Lantern Alan Scott, Jade, Obsidian, Arsenal, and Agent Chase. This rag-tag group will be formed as Director Bones becomes aware of the impending darkness that threatens DC’s universe.

The Infinite Frontier miniseries is set to kick off the beginning of the end as Darkseid returns to destroy all of existence. It seems that during his time locked away on Earth-Omega, Darkseid’s thought up the next steps of his devious plans. None of this is good news for the multiverse, which only just recovered from the events of Dark Knights: Death Metal. Currently, the way Darkseid will be re-introduced is unknown. However, it’s been theorized that Barry Allen, the Flash of the Justice Incarnate, will be the one to first detect his looming presence. Barry was recruited by Justice Incarnate to keep track of the ever-expanding multiverse, therefore, he would know of any disturbances.

In Infinite Frontier #5 by Joshua Williamson, Xermanico, Paul Pelletier, and Jesus Merino, Darkseid will battle Infinite Frontier’s leading superheroes. When battling the omniverse’s greatest threat, the team will be joined by another well-known character. That person is none other than Thomas Wayne, aka Flashpoint Batman, who is featured on both covers for this issue. How Flashpoint Batman exists in this timeline is unknown, but somehow the team stumbles upon him. According to the details released about his appearance, he will be a key player in the team’s actions against Darkseid. Check out the new inked cover art released by artist Mitch Gerads’ Twitter:

The cover art for Infinite Frontier #5 showcases the multiverse’s new Justice League taking on Darkseid as they climb up on a literal chain. The imagery of the chain can be interpreted as Darkseid’s grasp on the omniverse. That nothing will stand in his way and that the DC’s heroes are fighting with their hands chained. The featured superheroes fighting against Darkseid back this theory up, as they struggle to even get close to the villain. With some even falling off and having to be saved.

The question of how Darkseid will be defeated remains a big mystery, and it doesn’t look like he will be taken down anytime soon. Infinite Frontier writer Joshua Williamson recently confirmed that the new miniseries is just the first act of DC’s plans. Meaning that Darkseid could possibly reign onwards, with Infinite Frontier’s heroes failing to stop him. However, that isn’t confirmed, although it’s likely. Will President Superman and Flash be able to save the multiverse, or will Apokalypse’s ruler defeat all who oppose him on the battlefield? Find out as Infinite Frontier continues in June with issue one of the new event miniseries!
