Darkseid Finally Returns To The DC Universe

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Infinite Frontier #5!

In Infinite Frontier #5, Darkseid finally returns to face off against the Omniverse’s heroes. Reintroduced in Infinite Frontier #0, this Darkseid was revealed to be the ultimate version of himself, born out of reality being reset. Described as “the one true Darkseid,” the former ruler of Apokolips is aware of all of his past iterations and their mistakes. This time, Darkseid is determined to get what he wants, hence, the slow buildup to what his true plans are for the multiverse.

Infinite Frontier’s heroes just stumbled across Darkseid’s base of operations. This occurs as they crash land on Earth-Omega, one of the new Earths that was born out of the multiverse being reset. It’s a hellish planet that was once Darkseid’s prison until he broke free by killing DC’s gods, the Quintessence. Earth-Omega’s existence has been known for a while, but no one has been able to visit it. te.

In Infinite Frontier #5 by Joshua Williamson, Darkseid’s return comes as a big surprise to most of DC’s heroes, apart from Darkseid’s new allies: Director Bones, Machinehead, and the Injustice Incarnate. It turns out the last piece of Darkseid’s puzzle is Black Lantern Roy Harper, who tries to use his ring to save everyone from Darkseid. However, DC’s heroes are too late to act as the multiversal barriers have already been created.

Darkseid Finally Returns To The DC Universe

A big part of Darkseid’s plans is to isolate every Earth, blocking multiversal travel. Meaning that when Darkseid attacks an Earth, it’s impossible for reinforcements to come in from other worlds. Darkseid holds the literal chains to the entire multiverse. A vital part of him having complete control over the multiverse’s chains is that he has the Omega Lantern by his side. So, it’s possible that killing or getting rid of Roy could be the answer to breaking the cosmic chains.

In fact, it’s DC’s heroes’ connection to the multiverse that powers Darkseid and Earth-Omega. That’s why Bones has been sacrificing heroes from other worlds. Their multiversal energy is what powers the prison world of Earth-Omega and makes Darkseid stronger. Essentially, any physical attack is useless as it will only power Darkseid. How Infinite Frontier’s heroes will stop Darkseid remains a big mystery, but one thing’s certain, they will have to get creative. Infinite Frontier #5 is available in comic book stores and on digital platforms now.
