Daredevil Is The Woman Without Fear In Stunning Cosplay

A new cosplay from @graciethecosplaylass imagines the Woman Without Fear as Marvel’s Daredevil gets a twist in a stunning new ensemble. The cosplayer asks the “What If?” question, what if Matt Murdock was a woman. The cosplay brings the Devil’s of Hell Kitchen to life, but with a unique take that transforms the hero into a woman, which is different from the current version of Daredevil in Marvel Comics continuity, Elektra.

Daredevil sports one of the most iconic costumes in Marvel Comics history, but the blind hero didn’t always wear his iconic devilish red look. Matt Murdock actually sported a yellow costume in his debut issue Daredevil #1 by Stan Lee and Bill Everett. Daredevil’s original look – which was famously drawn on the cover of his first comic by Jack Kirby – eventually changed as Wally Wood introduced the red look in the series’ seventh issue, which has remained for decades. Murdock isn’t the only hero who’s worn red, as Elektra has become the new Daredevil in the current Marvel Comics series and will have her own miniseries launching next year as part of the upcoming Devil’s Reign event. Now, cosplayer @graciethecosplaylass is bringing the original Daredevil to life.

On her Instagram page, @graciethecosplaylass shared her look on the iconic hero. In the pictures (taken by @Benjamin_Farren), the cosplayer sports Daredevil’s iconic costume while wearing his horned mask (made by @mark_a_tuttle) and wielding the hero’s billy clubs. @graciethecosplaylass strikes a pose in three separate shots, including one in a church window, another in a stair hallway (one of Daredevil’s favorite places to fight), and another shot in front of the lights.

The look is a straight take on Marvel’s Daredevil seen in the comics and the recent Netflix series of the same name. It would be a lot of fun to see @graciethecosplaylass take on Elektra’s Daredevil look as well because the design from Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto’s run is one of the best new costumes in comics. That look is strikingly different from Matt Murdock’s costume as it features a long red gaiter, Elektra’s sais, and more flowing design elements. However, it keeps a similar mask and logo as the first Daredevil’s red suit.

Much like @graciethecosplaylass’ cosplay on Atom Eve from Invincible, her gender-bent Daredevil costume is fantastic. Ultimately, she did an excellent job imagining a different Woman Without Fear that’s currently seen in Marvel Comics’ Daredevil series.
