Daredevil Gets A Dark New Suit For The MCU In Daredevil: Born Again Fan Poster

A new Daredevil: Born Again fan art brings Matt Murdock’s famous black costume to life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Charlie Cox’s time in the MCU is far from over after he made his comeback in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home and had a cameo in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Following the Daredevil TV show on Netflix, the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is returning to the small screen once more for his own series, but this time on Disney+ in the form of Daredevil: Born Again, which is part of Marvel Studios’ Phase 5 slate.

While no release date has been officially set by Marvel Studios and Disney+, it is not stopping the MCU audience’s excitement for Daredevil: Born Again. MJD Artworks shared new artwork for Daredevil: Born Again showcasing what the hero’s return to a solo series could look like, while also giving Matt his latest Daredevil costume upgrade by crafting his MCU iteration a black suit.

Throughout his time on the small screen, Matt has donned three of his comic looks, as the Daredevil TV show saw his black proto-costume before he got his red uniform. On She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Matt got his red-and-yellow suit, which was designed by Luke Jacobson, although it’s unclear if he will be using that costume in Daredevil: Born Again season 1.

Why Daredevil: Born Again Is Being Re-Developed

While the Daredevil: Born Again TV show is on its way, the MCU series was recently revealed to be going through a major overhaul. Despite having filmed almost the first half of Daredevil: Born Again season 1, Marvel Studios reportedly wasn’t happy with the results, which led them to fire the writers and the directors working on the initial production. Even though scenes and various episodes will be kept, Daredevil: Born Again is getting reset for the most part.

Daredevil: Born Again’s re-development is the first step for Marvel Studios and Disney+ to make more traditional shows, allowing for multi-season arcs to be kept in mind, as well as a bigger focus on serialization. With Marvel Studios also looking for a new Daredevil: Born Again creative team, whoever is tapped as showrunner will be tasked to create regular pilot and show bibles. Outside of Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin – and seemingly Jon Bernthal’s Punisher – it’s unclear which Daredevil: Born Again cast members are coming back for the retooled version of the show.

It will certainly be interesting to see how Daredevil: Born Again shapes up with this major reset, as this sets precedents for future MCU TV shows down the line. With the SAG-AFTRA strike still taking place in Hollywood, time will tell how long it will take for Daredevil: Born Again season 1 to re-start production once they have tapped their new writers’ room. But for now, the world will have to wait and see what becomes of Daredevil: Born Again.
