Daredevil Fan Poster Highlights MCU Hero’s Dual Life

Matt Murdock’s dual life as a lawyer and a vigilante are getting a stylized spotlight in a new Daredevil fan poster. First played by Ben Affleck in the 2003 eponymous film, the iconic hero would make his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Netflix’s Daredevil portrayed by Charlie Cox. The series, loosely set within the MCU, chronicled the early days of Murdock’s crimefighting as he contended with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk/Kingpin and his corruption within Hell’s Kitchen.

Daredevil and Cox would receive critical acclaim across its three seasons on Netflix, with the show having come to a close in 2018 when the streaming platform cancelled it and its other MCU titles after their deal with Marvel Studios expired. Following the two-year embargo preventing the studio from utilizing any of the characters, Cox would finally get to step back into Matt’s shoes with a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, properly bringing him into the larger MCU as Peter Parker’s lawyer in his case to clear his name of having murdered Mysterio. Five months after the record-breaking threequel hit theaters, it was announced a new Daredevil show is in the works at Disney+ and one fan is sharing their excitement in a creative way.

On the heels of the recent Disney+ show announcement, artist The One Above All took to Twitter to share a new Daredevil fan poster. Designed as an idea for the streaming project, the art highlights the MCU hero’s dual life as a lawyer and vigilante, shown through his iconic red glasses. Check out the fan poster below:

In the four years since the show was first cancelled, Daredevil fans have cried out for Marvel Studios to find a way to revive the series, be it with a continuation on Hulu or a revival on Disney+. Cox remained coy throughout the years about his potential return, frequently expressing a desire for such a thing to come to be while also working to downplay his potential involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home after set photos seemingly indicated his return. Though Cox’s Daredevil return in the MCU threequel was overshadowed by the returns of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their Spider-Man incarnations, with Cox even attending a screening in which no one cheered upon seeing his face, most were still excited at what the future could hold for his character.

While the recent news of a new Daredevil show at Disney+ didn’t indicate whether Cox was returning or not, both the 39-year-old actor and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige have pointed towards any future projects involving the vigilante to be played by Cox. Additionally, recent reports have indicated that, despite a change in showrunners, the new Daredevil show will be a continuation of the Netflix series, leaving many hopeful for a number of open plot threads to be explored in the Disney+ project, including a rematch with Bullseye. While audiences await further word on the new series, they can revisit the first three Daredevil seasons streaming on Disney+ now.
