TLC originally followed this mother of two and twin who left everything behind in America to go to Amsterdam to meet her long-distance boyfriend, Jesse Meester. Once there, the obvious differences between Meester and Silva became all too apparent to viewers. Not only was there an age gap but there were also communication issues. Silva longed for affection and attention, while it seemed the more stoic Meester wished for a more independent woman. In one spoiler for the new season, Brooks was waiting for Silva at her own front door in what was very reminiscent of her first break up with the Dutch trainer.
