The trailer for Millie Bobby Brown’s Damsel has arrived. The upcoming Netflix fantasy movie features the Stranger Things and Enola Holmes star as Princess Elodie, who realizes that her betrothal to a charming prince is just a ruse to sacrifice her to a dragon as she is thrust into a seemingly unwinnable survival situation. The cast of the movie also includes Angela Bassett as Elodie’s stepmother Lady Bayford, Robin Wright as Queen Isabelle, Ray Winstone as the King, Nick Robinson as Prince Henry, and Shohreh Aghdashloo in an as-yet-unspecified role.
As part of Geeked Week 2023, Netflix has unveiled the first official trailer for the movie, though the official Damsel release date remains unknown after it was removed from the schedule amid the recently-concluded actors strike. Check out the trailer below:
The clip opens with Elodie already in the dragon’s lair, attempting to climb a treacherous cliff only to realize there is no escape. Then it goes back in time to establish the rest of the world of the movie, and the way that Queen Isabelle serenely encourages the Princess to accept her sacrifice.
