Crisis On Infinite Earths Officially Reveals The New Green Arrow

WARNING: Major SPOILERS from Supergirl season 5, episode 9 “Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 1.”

Crisis on Infinite Earths has officially begun and the first hour of the event revealed the Arrowverse’s next Green Arrow. The 5-hour crossover event didn’t hold back with the first chapter that took place in episode 9 of Supergirl season 5. As the Anti-Monitor is fully underway with unleashing the Crisis upon the Multiverse, the heroes came together for their biggest war. Characters from Earth-1 and Earth-38 were brought together by Harbinger (Audrey Marie Anderson) f.k.a. Lyla Diggle as Kara’s (Melissa Benoist) world was in the midst of facing its end.

As time was running out, the Queen family had a pivotal moment during the action. WithKatherine McNamara’s Mia Smoak-Queen still stuck in the past, she joined her father on his final mission as Oliver (Stephen Amell) was destined to die in the Crisis. Knowing that his fate was upon him, Oliver had one final gift for his daughter. .

As his time being the Green Arrow was coming to an end, Oliver gifted Mia with her own costume bypassing the mantle of the Emerald Archer on to her. This officially became the moment where Mia became the Arrwoverse’s next Green Arrow. The events of “Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 1” also marks as the seed for the Green Arrow and the Canaries spin-off that Mia will star in. The passing of the title did, however, come at a devastating timing because of what followed. Towards the latter half of the episode, Oliver and the heroes take on the Shadow Demon army as they were evacuating as many of Earth-38’s population as possible. But when the Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) shows up, stressing that this world was lost, Oliver refused to give up.

While the Monitor teleported everyone back to Earth-1, Oliver stayed behind as he took on the army alone without any arrows as a heroic sacrifice. According to the Monitor, Oliver’s action saved the lives of 1 billion people. Once back on Earth-1, Oliver bids farewell to his loved ones before dying. Despite being destined to die, the Monitor is stunned to see that Oliver didn’t go out the way he was supposed to.

With the original Emerald Archer now dead, Mia is, whether she is ready or not, the new Green Arrow. Having seen her father die, Mia’s role in the Crisis will be more pivotal than ever before. Not only does this become the beginning of keeping her father’s legacy alive, but Mia’s first official outing as the Green Arrow will be against the greatest danger in existence. How Oliver’s sacrifice affects the rest of the team will continue in the next installments of Crisis on Infinite Earths.
