Creed 4 Without Michael B. Jordan As The Main Hero Just Became Way More Likely

Creed 4 Without Michael B. Jordan As The Main Hero Just Became Way More Likely

Creed 4 is on the way, but it looks way more likely to happen without Michael B. Jordan as the main hero. Jordan has starred as Adonis Creed in all three films, but the next installment may be going in a different direction. Despite Creed 3 providing a solid ending to Adonis’ story, Creed 4 was confirmed, meaning Jordan will likely be back in some capacity. Not only did Jordan star in Creed 3, but he also directed it and he’ll be continuing his directing duties for the fourth film, even if Adonis isn’t the movie’s main focus.

Jordan may be the face of the franchise, but it has plenty of potential to thrive without him. Creed is already branching off from its main film series, with spinoff movies and an anime series in the works, meaning that plans for expanding this universe beyond Adonis have already begun. Jonathan Majors seems unlikely to be part of the Creed franchise’s future, emphasizing how difficult it will be to continue with Adonis as the central character. With other opportunities arising, Jordan may begin to step away from the franchise on-screen, and instead continue building it from a more creative position.

Michael B. Jordan Doesn’t Need To Star In Creed 4 Anymore

Jordan Has Multiple Franchise Opportunities

Although he has done an exceptional job of building the Creed universe, Michael B. Jordan doesn’t need to star in the franchise anymore. With Adonis’ story essentially being completed in Creed 3, Jordan also has a plethora of other opportunities that could be more refreshing. Michael B. Jordan’s new exciting movie with Ryan Coogler will be a massive change of pace for Jordan and supposedly has franchise potential. Creating another new franchise from the ground up alongside a director he is very familiar with has a lot more potential than Adonis returning to the ring.

Coogler and Jordan’s vampire movie already has backing from Warner Bros and with the project moving quickly, directing and leading Creed 4 may be too much to balance. There is even the option to return to Marvel in some capacity. He has already reprised his role for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, despite his character being killed off in the first film, proving that the Marvel door is still open for Jordan. With potential franchise opportunities alongside his interest in directing, Michael B. Jordan no longer has to star in Creed 4 and can comfortably pass the torch onto someone else.

Creed 3’s Ending Set Up Amara To Be The Franchise’s New Lead After Adonis’ Retirement

Amara Becoming The Protagonist Of Creed 4 Is The Next Logical Step For The Franchise

Amara Creed from Creed 3 next to a comic version of Amara and Adonis

After Adonis retired in Creed 3, his daughter, Amara, seemed poised to take the lead role in the next installment. Despite Creed 3‘s ending setting up Amara becoming the protagonist, there were some hurdles preventing this. Amara was too young to begin a boxing career at the end of the movie, while Jonathan Majors’ performance suggested he could have had a big role in Creed‘s future. However, the biggest obstacle seemed to be how involved in the franchise Jordan was. Being both the protagonist and director of Creed 3 meant Jordan was almost guaranteed to lead Creed 4.

However, with Jordan having a potentially reduced role and Majors seemingly out of the picture, there is a lot more potential to move the series forward through Amara. Adonis’ entire career was covered in the span of three movies, highlighting that time jumps aren’t uncommon in the franchise, and Creed 4 could easily make Amara old enough to begin pursuing a professional career. Amara has an interesting story, as her hearing loss will naturally make boxing difficult. Exploring this narrative would still allow Jordan to appear in Creed 4 while shifting the focus to Amara’s aspiring boxing career.
